Have you gained more than lost?

    Greetings, my friends:

The above question is not in regard to one's weight. That would be a rude question ...

In terms of your JW experience, have the losses you've suffered been offset by the good you've gained?

    Kindly reply.

Yes, I have gained Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and savior. I am an annointed one and I will be with Him in heaven, what a wonderful thing!

    Dear real one,

Thank you for your reply and may I wish you a belated welcome to JWD.

Many former Witnesses are grateful for their "knowing" Jesus Christ as never before; it's certainly more than the oft-repeated "This means everlasting life, their TAKING IN KNOWLEDGE ..." Gaining knowledge doesn't necessarily lead to a relationship, as I'm sure you've already discovered.

    Gratefully,

I gained my freedom but at great cost. That's ok. Nothing truly valuable is completely free.

    Thank you for your replies:

    Finally Free:

It's a series of trade-offs, isn't it? It's said that there's no honorable way to leave the Witnesses.True as that may be, I wonder if some JW's secretly envy/admire us who have said "enough!"

    Oompa:

I hope you start to register on the positve side of the experience. Sadly, we've all lost heavily on the WTB&TS stock exchange.

    jgnat:

We look forward to hearing more ... a daily experience ... daunting!

i am decidedly in the plus column, but my status is not officially repugnant to the christian congregation of JWs... yet.....

i had the dubious distinction of being the only one in my extended family of having fallen prey to the b0rg, so no worries there..... all of them live half a continent away and our lives do not spin in the same direction anyway

all my immediate family, spouse and progeny, saw thru the deceptions before i did..... what could have been my biggest loss had i remained entranced/entrenched would have been a rift with my children......

i have escaped to a world of reality and gained a real life

my for those dealing with losses i can barely imagine......

When I went in, I lost too much. Money (to the tune of more than $1,000 wasted). Christmas. The chance to get a decent job. Getting behind on computer technology. All opportunity to meet the opposite sex, unless by accident one comes to a door while I am knocking (and usually my partner would take that door). All the time I wasted in field circus. My music.

When I left, I lost nothing of value. Having someone tell me what to do every yoctosecond of every day. The boasting sessions that are crap. Field circus. Association with people that make me want to puke. Having to go to a boasting session every time I need to sleep (or having to race home from work to go out in field circus). Nothing worthwhile.
