A couple of days ago I turned on the news and in five minutes saw enough famine, earthquakes, pestilence and wars to know it was going to be an exciting day for the JW's.

The dumpee or the dumper
by wings inthis topic is about the end of a relationship.
i was reading in an old self help book on surviving divorce.
he put the survivors into the dumpee/dumper category, and then there were the mutuals that i know nothing about.

And how do we know that tidbit?
just a book that my sister brought me from her goodwill pile. I leafed though it and caught those points. I thought it was interesting. The future for me is dumping, and I know about that tidbit. I JUST HATE IT!!!!!!!! I want this to be all over.

Maybe in some relationships both are waiting for the end and relieved when it arrives?
RC, in this book I was looking at, he called this "the mutuals". Those evidently have an easier time with it.

Not being content to live like a leper in my own home, I ended the marriage. I felt guilty for a long time, but I'm over that now.
ditto...feeling guilty, and have been. Does it end?

I'm curious about whether ones approach to ending relationships is linked to whether ones persona is a judging one or an empath one?
I imagine in some situations an empath lets a relationship shrivel before its essential to break free whereas a judging personas self interest always takes president and will reject people like old clothes?
I'm unsure how true it is but I wonder, if too, the same can be said of many suuccessful people = intolerant of anything less than success?
RC that is very thoughtful. Of all the reasons for marriages to have trouble and end in dirvorce, many reasons...., but to when one wants to exit a cult, and the other digs feet in.....even though it is a reason, it just doesn't seem right.
In my situation, that is not the only reason, it is just the reason that broke the camel's back. Right now I am just upset about it.
It is painful for both sides. Sometimes things just aren't meant to be. Sometimes something just dies. But no matter why or how, it is horrible to go thru on both sides of the end.
momz this is so true. I would give anything to be dumped right now. The honest path is so often the hardest.

Post Movie note... One of the JWs present called me up today, and told me that he had never had the guts to speak to an 'apostate' before. Now thanks to the movie and meeting us, he wants to learn more about becoming an xJW!
You are on a roll my friend. Please let us know how that conversaiton goes. I think I could learn a lot from you about being forthright. Can't wait to see the movie, I'll just follow the information about it posted here on our very own apostate website. One place I know I can find the best information.

I love my parents but...
by mrsjones5 inhubby just told me that my father and mother accused me of stealing a mug from their house when i visited them in october of last year.
my parents sent that mug to me in a box along with some other stuff when they moved to their current house close to four years ago.
my husband knew this and defended me quite nicely but they took the mug with them when they left.

California isn't that great. I think Indiana has tons of potential. I'll be passing through there on my road trip. I'll bring you a mug. I love mugs.
