  first you have to have an appreciation for the fact that it is an art form.. like an appreciation of music....endless possibilities...... then you have to start with good fresh bread, if you don't have that, you won't hit perfect.

  doesn't really matter...perfection can be found either way.

  Grilled portabello on toasted focaccia bread with baby greens, fresh mozzarella, and a light brushing of fresh pesto. Yummm...

  ohiocowboy...and you are from Texas?? I would expect that from CA....anyhoo, sounds VERY GOOD!

  You can't have a perfect sandwich without potato chips and a pickle on the side.

  NY...that is a good point....and a beer and hot pepper.

  I can't remember who he replaced on Meet the Press, but he once said that he had a hard time replacing him....but was told by that person to just take the opposite side in every issue....

  I thought he did a good job of that. I will miss him.

  Like an appreciation of music....endless possibilities.....

  Then you have to start with good fresh bread, if you don't have that, you won't hit perfect. Hot or cold? Doesn't really matter...perfection can be found either way. To me is is also about the sauce...mayo, tweaked a bit with some spices. Niger or lime juice on the lettuce...lettuce shredded. Red onions, peppers? Which cheese? Home smoked meat sliced thin...yes....make it a little spicy....oh yes....wish I had some good bread, I'm hungry.

  There have been times in my life that a good sandwich will bring me back to the land of the living, remembering how good a simple thing can be.

  The witness vocabulary...

  i was thinking about this earlier while working on my pharmacology class for college.

  there is a massive medical field specific vocabulary that you have to learn.

  this got me thinking about the witnesses.

  My mother always used this as an example of how "educated" Jw's were but I think that it really just shows how much of a cult they are...

  I guess!!!!....yes I am one who learned the language. The words that most bothered me were "organization" and "society" spoken of like they were Deity.

  My Sister Finally Called Me... After My JW Brother Completely Told Her Off

  well, for those that don't know the story, here's a quick recap.

  my sister, mom, and dad felt i was an apostate, freaked out on me, then went to the elders and ratted me out.

  i haven't spoken to her in about 2 months because i didn't like the way that she treated me.

  sorry you are having to go through this. I am having troubles with my sister too, I understand just not wanting to put up with the abuse.

  Glad she called...I know that helps. Not talking just isn't right. Hope it sticks for awhile.

  Does Wearing Your Nations Uniform Automatically Ensure a High Moral Ground?

  i realize that the contents of this thread may enflame the passions of those on all sides of the house.

  if your sensibilities are easily damaged, you take yourself to seriously, or your humor is wanting, then be warned this may not be the thread for you.. i have been reading with interest a thread on this board today that is discussing the treatment of us veterans.

  i have noticed that when such subjects are discussed there is an automatic assumption that those who don the uniforms of their respective nations, they somehow are automatically walking on a higher moral ground.. i find it all the more puzzling that those who cry the loudest for 'special' treatment for soldiers, and by special i mean as compared to the rest of the working masses, seem to be of an republican bent.

  forgive me HS for simplifying this....but, if we really understand the causes of the issue, and take time to realize the travesty of it all. Then we must see that the entire system is victim to it's self, and the men in uniform are just a part of it. Why would we either condone or villainize them?

  Not wanting to take away their honor...but, no reason to not respect the absolution they have given. You said...some wars are with purpose....so the military has to function, in spite of the corrupt dysfunction of the government.

  Just a point...think about the non-draft situation...the recruiting is some serious marketing in society...these are the ones we are mostly talking about. Are they victims? Are they heros?
