calgary/am770chqr - the father of a calgary jehovah's witnesses teen who died after refusing blood transfusions has won a partial victory in the alberta court of appeal.. the province's highest court has ruled that lawrence hughes should not have been removed as an administrator of his late daughter's estate.. the court has also restored his lawsuit on behalf of the estate alleging the watchtower society and its lawyers used mis-representation and deceit to convince his 16-year-old daughter bethany chemotherapy and blood transfusions would not help cure her cancer and were experimental.. however, the appeal court upheld the trial judges dismisal of hughes' other claims including conflict of interest, undue influence and conspiracy.

does anyone else find it peculiar that the watchtower places no blame on the women?
in the wt world, it is always the less powerful who bears the primary burden of guilt except in this one case.. for example, didn't someone post a wt form which asks an applicant about pedophile practices and then asks if the child did anything to provoke the assault?
The Book of the Watchers reports that 200 angels descended on Mt Hermon during the days of Jared and changed themselves into human form. They then copulated with women and produced the Nephilim. Was this rape or was it consensual?
The Bible states that they took wives for themselves - all whom they wanted. Multiple wives, perhaps?
Whatever the case, my take is that the women had little say in the matter. How could they be blamed?

*sigh* i was seeing someone for several months, but it is not working out.
so i went back to my only way of meeting men thus far--online dating sites.
i have had some really cool experiences, but i think i am getting burnt out....if i read one more email from a guy that reads "u r booteful and i wud luv to chat with u and then maybe we go out and eat" (or my personal favorite today--"you are eye-popping"--i am busty and the current picture reveals that little fact) i think i will puke!

You have paid your dues and have earned the right to vent, imo. Don't sweat the small stuff. Once you begin your classes, you'll be certain to find someone with the same interest and outlook on life as yourself. The JW's worldview is so narrow and stifling, especially to younger ones. Just give things time ... it'll all come together. You'll see. .

I am currently trying to wade through the Book of Jasher. It sheds light on a lot of the happenings in Genesis. For instance, it gives the name of Noah's wife and her ancestry. It also shows just how base and corrupt Cain and Esau really were. All in all, I'm finding it a fascinating read.
Oh, another thing. Remember how the WT always alluded to the thought that Melchizedek was actually Shem? Well, the Book of Jasher comes right out and states that Melchizedek and Shem were one and the same. Methinks the WT purposely avoided divulging its source of information so that we would continue to think they had some sort of special enlightenment. What a bunch of pseudo-scholars!!!

I see your point, Mum. However, let's not forget that according to the Bible, those "men" were GIANTS!!! Nowadays, women at least stand a fairly good chance of foiling an intended rapist. But, to accuse women or children of enticing or inviting someone to rape them is inexcusable. The WTS ought to be ashamed of themselves
