  see....this is the downside to leaving the forum for a while - you know you've missed out on great conversations and it takes f o r e v e r to find older threads.. so....help a-sista out....what's the 411 on the mass exodus from brooklyn, the sale of the buildings, the $$$$ made, etc.

  That is one of the reasons why the Black churches in the South and the Watchtower are at loggerheads with each other.

  Black JW's were supposedly neutral when it came to protesting and demonstrating against Jim Crow, but they certainly weren't neutral when it came to benefitting from the hard labor of those who were at the forefront of the Civil Rights struggle.

  Started "studying" in 1972, baptized in 1974.

  Walked away in 1988, returned in 1998.

  Left for good in 2005 - as of yet, not formally DA'd or DF'd.

  Soooooo ... about 33 years.

  While Rutherford was stereotyping and pontificating, some other Whites were quietly going about establishing schools so that Black children could learn how to fit into a larger society. I received a quality education at one of those schools.

  i believe there is growing unrest amongst jws.

  they may not be very cohesive or organized, but the rigorous demands for obedience coming from the leadership and the unbending, never ending list of rules, not to mention the end that has been ever so-close for so long yet never climaxes, has a lot of jws frustrated.. don't get me wrong.

  i know there are some jws that will hang in there no matter what they're told to do and will obey without question.
