  i wanted to express appreciation to the members of this forum.

  there are resources here that are deep.

  like we heard from the stage, "what is your depth and breadth of bible knowledge?

  Your experience is similar to mine.

  I began studying right out of high school because I was disillusioned with my church and life in general.

  Though the hype surrounding 1975 was somewhat muted down here, I knew about and believed the statement of Jesus of Nazareth at Acts 1:7.

  Therefore, I was not disappointed at all when nothing happened.

  Later on, when I found out about the cover-ups, failed past doctrines, and the mangling of the Holy Scriptures, I was out of there.

  i find this hard to express properly but it seems to me that the rate of change is getting so rapid that nothing will be left of anything recognisable.

  we used to say that any one coming back after 50 years would not recognise the "truth".. the entity existing now is totally different from 10 years ago.

  it seems reasonable to suppose that this will continue to the point that nothing before 2010 will be safe to read for joe publisher (or possibly 'local instructor') so that he isn't corrupted or confused by old light.

  well... as they say on talk back radio "i'm a long time listener, first time caller"(poster in this case!).

  i have been a "lurker" for several years, but never had the courage to take the step and join up...until now.. i really want to thank everyone for their insights and comments throughout the forum.

  although i have not contibuted to discussions, i have benefitted very much from all of your comments and observations on all topics.

  My Mom is in the hospital

  my mother broke her hip last week.

  she had an emergency partial replacement surgery friday night.

  we don't know how she did it as we have caregivers with her at all times, she may have fallen while in the bathroom for a few minutes.
