Two examples: I had the misfortune of being born very light-skinned. My maternal grandma disliked me intensely.
One of my grandsons is even lighter. His mother had to request that he be transferred to a different class due to his teacher's dislike of him.

If you said it in the same context as Graham and Rice, that the hiring process routinely excludes other groups, there would be nothing racist about it.

I am African-American, and I recall some of the taboos about menstruating girls and women that were insisted upon by The Ancestors.
For instance, we girls were not allowed to prepare meals during our periods.
That suited me quite fine!
