Your story is moving and touched a raw nerve, ex-nj-jw.
I allowed my youngest daughter to get baptized even though I was racked with doubts about the WTS. Since I've become inactive, she has been treating me with thinly-concealed contempt. Where do you think she gets the fodder for her attitude? Why, Jehovah's loving organization, where else?
I hope your son comes around and accepts you for what you are: a loving mother who simply walked away from a controlling and abusive environment.

I'm in love and ... scared !!!
by RAF insorry need to share and to talk about it and maybe in giving me your opinion, talking about your experience, i'll find other ways to deal with it.. .
i just turned 40 (does this have something to do with it) never been scared about the matter ... but now i wonder what kind of love i've really experienced before (any kind of appeals like complicity for instance, the need to share something in particular with someone, the need to give someone some love?
) i dunno for real .... i'm trying to get this out of my head but i can't, i can't, i can't - i'm trying to get interested in other guys but it's just not the same ... and i even wonder how i came to the conclusion that i do love him !!!.

Take wings and fly while the air is sweet with sunshine and your soul is lighter than magic.
Terry, that is so poetic. You have a gift for putting the right words together. RAF, I know how you feel.
It is scary because of the intensity of your feelings. Just take it slowly - as if that is easy to do - enjoy the time you have together and let tomorrow take care of itself.
I am happy for you.

Leave nvr alone, you wicked apostate! He is my main man. I ALWAYS look for his topics and replies. He has mellowed quite a bit over a period of time and has become quite, well...er, nice.
Keep it up, nvr.

Bigdreaux and Missanna:
I liked your story a whole lot. It is so inspiring to read real-life stories of love and triumph.
I only wish we lived closer to each other. We could sit on the porch, split a watermelon, and swap tales until the break of dawn.

Kingdom Melodies - What were we singing

And to think I had all those babies MEMORIZED!
One in particular comes to mind: Hail Jehovah's Firstborn. One stanza goes, Who since He was created ... getting their point across that Jesus is a creature.
You're right, Gopher. Propaganda set to music.

An Interesting Tidbit
by snowbird ini'm using a public terminal at our bitty little old hometown library because i've lost my in-home connection.. the wife of the po of my old congregation works here, and she gave me the strangest look imaginable when i walked in.
right after i registered and took my place, a sweet little auxiliary pioneer came in and sat right across from me!.
i thought to myself, what in the world is going on?

I thought to myself, what in the world is going on? Then I relaxed and began to catch up on all the posts. I hope she (the PO's wife) will snoop and find out what I've been up to. Won't that be an interesting topic for conversation with her husband tonight?

Will Races Disappear?
by nvrgnbk inas the world becomes a smaller and smaller place, due to advances in technology, there is increased opportunity for persons of different races and cultures to meet and start families.. will the the differences between the races start to disappear as a result?.

Do you believe this would be a positive or negative development?
Yes, the superficial differences will begin to disappear.
I believe this will be a positive development. Whenever negative stereotypes, biases, irrational fears, or other types of xenophobic behavior are put to rest only good can result.

Crumpet, here's to you
Thanks for sharing. I had a severe depressive episode back in 2004. After trying out several anti-depressants, I was put on Zoloft which made me feel like someone. I was trying to take care of my semi-invalid mother at the time, and I clearly remember getting the urge to choke the living daylight out of her! I quit taking any kind of anti-depressants and began to feel much better.
One of my nieces sent me some info about eating the right kinds of food according to your type. I try to follow the guidelines to the best of my ability and have noticed a marked improvement in my health. You may want to ask your doctor about this.
And to think at one time I called you a wicked, little old heifer. Please forgive me.
