i look northern european and feel close to that part of the world with family tradition being roman catholic.

Elder for 30 years, lost privelages due to WT Education policy

an elder who was serving for more than 30 years, faithfull to the organization at all means, has lost his privelage due to the wt education policy.
the reason was that he allowed his son to study at the university.

Rumors(and everyone knows how do rumors spread in the WT world)are saying that there is a letter to the elders of the local congregations from Brooklyn headquarters, that any Elder, or MS, that sends children to study looses the possition...
There is/was an elder in a neighboring county who allowed all three of his kids to go to college. They are brilliant kids who won scholarships to an Ivy League university. There were write-ups about them in the local paper as well as a national magazine.
This elder used to be on every assembly program because he was a polished, articulate speaker. All of a sudden, no more assembly parts for him. This happened right after his oldest enrolled in the university. Coincidence? I don't think so.

i never heard elders ask jw's to reach out into their abundance and help poor jw's....have you?.

i raised my kids in the religion....thinking it was the only way.
recently, my daughter (who was baptized at 15 she is 24 now and has since stopped attending meetings, has been in a relationsip with a man and now has a newborn baby) was invited to a witness wedding and subsequently uninvited b/c she could possibly stumble the jw's who would be attending,since she has had a baby with a non witness and is not married.. .

From his writings, his attitude comes across as patronizing and paternalistic. He believed that during the Times of Restitution, Black people were to become White. Of course, the idea that Black people were accursed seems to have been the prevailing thought of most Whites during Russell's time.
I find it appalling that so-called Christians were preoccupied with such things. I have a copy of C. J. Woodworth's Letter From the Raymond Street Jail. In this letter, he made a careful note of how many Black people were in the section with them. I believe the no-blood doctrine evolved out of a morbid fear that Whites would receive the blood of a Black person!

I believe the verse is 2Peter 3:16. It is my firm conviction that the Bible can stand on its own merits, so I don't bother anymore about "defending" anything. I realize now that in the past I was quite obnoxious in dogmatically denouncing any belief system other than the JW's.
