There was a post on this two months ago. A researcher has determined the UFO's and aliens can only be interdimensional much like spirits to us, rather than physical spacecraft. Not a shred of evidence exists for them, its all people's testimony. Interestingly, the Bible and old scripture are the basis of a well-known alien advocacy group, they are real phonies. The WTS is right.

by MichaelM ini've been studying with the jw's for a few months and i've attended a few meetings but things are feeling somewhat strange...i don't quite get the jist of things but i feel that i'm learning more of what the watchtower teachers and less of what the bible actually says.. i never open my bible.. i'm always reading the watchtower pamphlets.
i really like the people i've met in the congregation and the guy thats been doing the studies with me has been an awesome friend.. .
but i'm just having some issues.. i mean.. they translated their own bible to suit their own doctrines it seems.

To add to my other post Ithe JW's don't give you any real time for independent study. I like the idea of discipleship they promote but dislike blind obeyance to a man-made organization. Can they attest to being perfect and incorruptable - No. Then they don't deserve to be anything other than a fanatical and as any other cult they can be detrimental to Christianity. 90% of the posters here attesting to be former JW's can't be all wrong.

I also went thru the trial of grueling afternoon services and Tuesday Revelation Since there was no pressure against it and nobody asked, I also contined services at my normal church. I did this with a friend and we both decided like you after about three months.
First, Revelation says not to change add or subtract to the Bible, but that is clearly the NWT. It changes words of attributed Jesus himself, just to be anti-Catholic iand also anti-Protestant.
Protestant religions are started by social movements. People get together to agree and form it at a singular place and time. Even Christianinity was formed by social forces. Over time these conditions themselves change and or the Catholic Chruch changes. I think the WTS has sort of frozen itself in time. Many WT tracts profusely attack the Catholics and Protestants along with their Bible studies, so that you understand why they created the religion. But they unremittingly come back to that precept.
Is it really smart to not be involved in politics at all. If so how can we function in a democracy?
Is it a good idea never to give or accept blood even for medical reasons?
The WTS accepts the idea of angels and demons as spirit creatures. Many of the Saints have written that the cross is effective at getting rid of evil spirits. If the WTS wants you to disbelieve in hell, is it any wonder why they don't want to see you bring any cross around them?

Why do people always blame others ?
by JH inmy mom moved to a brand new building and i wanted to make doubles of her keys of her apartment, so i cross the street where they do that, and brought them 2 different keys to make doubles.
the first key went fine and could open that door, but the other key didn't open the door, so i went back and they tried again, so i went to moms apartment and it still didnt work, so i went back and they made an other one, and i went back to moms apartment and it still didnt work.....in all they tried 4 times and they weren't able, so i went to the cash to get my money back for the key that they werent able to make a double of....so the girl at the cash said, maybe you should get a new door lock, so i told her that it was a brand new building and a brand new door knob, so it was their fault not ours.
all that time i had a smile on my face when i want back and back and back, but when the girl at the cash said that i should try changing my door knob, then i realized how people just can't admit that they weren't able to do the job properly or they didn,t have the right key to start with to make a double.

Congrats on getting the new equipment. I beg you to pray for the keymakers. A common door lock is a much more complicated device. Even if both locks were new, could it not be more likely that one of the locks does not work as well as the other? I would think that the key for the lock that doesn't work was made by the exact same process as the one to the working lock.
Did the keymaker not reproduce the master four times? By dong that and arguing with you he has probably consumed all profit, therefore he has enough trouble.
Sometimes the repro keys have an unclean cut, like a rough not smooth edge. It is usual to round down all the edges of the key. Advisable too is the use of additional lubricant
Following that if it still doesn't work, I would be as worried with the small cost of the key but whether or not the lock is defective.
I once put in a lock as it was touted to be a super-protective new style. Once I had come home to take lunch and had a limited amount of time to get back to work. I turned the lock and pulled out the key and the entire lock cylinder came out of its housing!
Like I said I did not have the time and wanted the door locked. So I just put the thing back in place and tried it and it locked and didn't come out a second time. Every time after that, I actually kept trying to pull the lock out with the key and it never happened again. I knew the lock had a defect, but never could replicate the cylinder coming out.
So locks can be tricky. See if you cannot get the lock exchanged, and make sure you do not put it in upside down.

The Secret Message
by Nazarene inof jesus, the title of a book written by one brian mclaren, inspired me to tread into a possibly divisive issue with all you all geniuses.
in it the author espouses his opinions that jesus' walk had been a mainly poltical example of how to contned with roman domination.

By contrast we lucky ones in the time space continuum live in a participatory democracy and even if it is not perfect is there any real reason for the JW to be so apolitical? I mean it is one thing to not try to influence political events but to actually attribute it all to the Devils and demons is not unlike being part of the problem, thus perpetuating the vices Jesus sought to undermine. The unwashed victims of the world look up to us to save them. Since Jehovah can and does make judgments upon groups of people effective on earth, I would not hesitate to become as politically active as possible in the realm of world peace and justice.

of Jesus, the title of a book written by one Brian McLaren, inspired me to tread into a possibly divisive issue with all you all geniuses. In it the author espouses his opinions that Jesus' walk had been a mainly poltical example of how to contned with Roman domination. Isreal had been occupied for centuries but at least they could still worship Yahweh. Yeshua offers to the Jews and Gentiles alike a fifth strategy, that all of us who are occupied by materialistic forces this day can relate to, in light of the Essene, Pharisee, Saducee, and Zealot societies to which Jews all gravitated around.
The Essenes response to Roman domination had been one of flight -- leave the populated areas for their own communes. The Pharisees said Jehovah, err Yahweh was displeased with the ignorant evildoers of their society becuase their way were not Godly, and though they'd best be excluded from their purest circle of law-abiding faithful. Saducees mostly went along with the existing regime -- an appeasement strategy; the Zealots opposed this for violent rebellion. The theme is He correctly prophesized the Romans would crush the Zealot rebellion and had always taught peaceful loving means of resistance would prevail best for them. The great to the poor should've been unified fom the message, instead they remained divided in their opposition, for the most part.
There is another important difference to be considered about Jesus that I will not consider for now. I am not a Witness but study with them. Its true that nothing has been mentioned about this to me from the congregation, but I understand the faith is inherently non-political. Would it not be true then, the Watchtower would scorn an appraisal of Jesus such as this?
Well, maybe I will also put it out that a minor opinion of Mr. McLaren has it that Revelation was typical Jewish apocalyptic writing created in a reponse to the Roman's potential oppression of Christian criticism of the regime's leaders Deifying themselves and that the times of tribulation so symbolically written about had in fact already taken place by 70 A.D. Am I guilty of an anchronism by following this interpretation? I have to agree with the author that it was also a counsel of warning that goes on to apply today, but should not be considered a scripted outcome that we are expecting to befall us. Heed the warning and do all in your power to prevent apocalypse.

There is wide variety among the different parishes. The one I chose to attend is socially oriented. Their pastor is a leader in developing the inter-faith committee for pressuring the local policos, who are corrupt with the developers and we are active in the peace and justice movement in the Middle East. Another parish give out food to the needy. The church heavily subsidses a Bible scholar program at St. Thomas University, so you can attend classes there for $100 a semester.
Affiliates like the Knights of Columbus also fund student education through seminaries. You should check out their website sometime, and tell us what you think then.
The WS offers a distorted, accusing view of what the Catholic position had been on Hitler.
