That was one thing that was troubling me when I was still in.... so many things had changed since the day I was baptized that it made me question the validity of my baptism, thinking: "I didn't say yes to this or that but I'm still held accountable to it!"

QUITTING QUIETLY here is the Canadian version of the document
by gone for good ina while back, i suggested that an easy, quick, quiet exit with the signing and dating of a concise and irrefutable document would spur faders and pimos to preempt the elders' interference by quitting quietly first , before a fade or a confrontation.
here is the document .

Sinning a document like this will have the exact opposite of leaving quietly. For JWs, it will be considered as a dissociation letter, they will read: "So and so is no longer a JW" and you will be treated as an excommunicated.
Not long ago, the JWs won in Canadian Court for their right to disfellowship people causing them financial harm. The only angle I believe there would be a chance is to recognize the enforcement of shunning as intimidation and thereby, expose religions practising it to legal actions.

An answer to a letter from a JW.
by smiddy3 inthis is a reply i sent to a jw who sent me a letter "what is gods kingdom"?
i didn`t want to come across to strong or as an apostate .i was pleasant b4 and after this piece .. you direct me to the watchtower magazine that announces jehovah`s kingdom to get the right answer`s to what god`s kingdom means.. i am somewhat familiar with what the new testament says about god`s kingdom and i cannot find in any scripture a specific mention of jehovah`s kingdom, not one scripture .
those words jehovah`s kingdom do not appear in any bible i have seen including the nwt.. i have a few bibles .. but what i do find is that there are over 20 scriptures that explicitly state that followers of jesus christ, christians, are to be witnesses of jesus christ and his kingdom , the kingdom of jesus christ that is to rule for a thousand years .. the bible makes no mention of a jehovah`s kingdom.. the reason that there are over 40,000+ christian sects is because they all fall victim to relying on their own interpretations of what they consider this scripture or that scripture means and not accepting what the bible simply states.. and then i thanked her for her concern and gave her my e-mail address if she wants to contact me further .. criticsims / feedback welcome .. edit:.

I can think of a few, but the biggest one is that I probably would have been a lawyer and in politics had it not been for watchtower.

The decrease of 0.6% this year shows that this religion heavily relies on its preaching work to fill in for those leaving. The preaching work being much less effective, the baptism number falls short of 61,872 over last year. Comparing this to the overall 46,823 decrease in publishers, we can see that preaching billions of hours is vital to this organization.
We can also make the following observations:
1) Many countries have steadily lost members over the last years and are likely to keep decreasing.
2) Countries that used to show increase are getting progressively exposed to the internet and these are now showing reduction in members.

Today is the last day for JW`s to sign up for the Redress Scheme.? ARC
by smiddy3 inhi, friends , i doubt that the jehovah`s witnesses will sign up and in one way it is a good thing because it will bring reproach on the name of god and his supposed organization, if the govts.are true to theire word they should name and shame them.
for not signing up.. one of the reasons for not signing up is because they do not share interfaith with other christian religions.. however they seem to have no problem selling their kh`s to christendoms religions .?.
but if any member of the jw`s has any dealings with another church you will be brought before the judicial committee to explain yourself and maybe end up disfellowshipped.. if ,and i don`t beleive there will be any persecution ,but if it did occur it would be because they brought it upon themselves ..

The only way the governments will get real results is for them to criminalize actions for which we condemn the Jehovah's Witnesses. For starters, a religious leader becoming aware of child sexual abuse and not reporting it to the authorities should be held criminally responsible. *
Yes, JWs are immoral for their stand and actions. But they manage to blur the lines and make everything grey. Its time for governments to stop relying on religions to do the right things and force them to act like civilized human beings.
* I would still allow for the one-on-one confessions where no authority is part of the procedure; just like confessing of a crime to a lawyer.

Hello Smiddy, I realize my answer is a bit late, but I reviewed the letter you already sent as follow. Notice that I try to be a bit more blend so as not to trip the "Apostate" alarms in their head:
Dear Jehovah’s Witnesses,
I received your letter and I am pleased to see that, like many Christian denominations, you take part in the Christian ministry that has brought 2.2 billion individuals to Christ around the world. I also have a special thought for those of your religion that suffer persecution and oppression in various parts of the globe. As many other Christians around the world, you are a fine example of true loyalty to our lord and savior.
In this world, filled with evil, even the most well-intentioned organizations have been infiltrated by evil and, sadly, your religion, like other Christian organisations, have been the target of pedophiles. This has been well established by the Australian Royal Commission into Institutions of child sexual abuse (ARC) which has resulted in changes in policies in various groups, including yours! While your leaders have not manifested their desire to take part in the redress scheme accepted by most, I hope you incorporate further advises that were provided by the ARC during their procedural review as some significant ones have not yet been put in place.
Your ministry is certainly important and no doubt you want to bring people closer to God and to the values thought by our Lord Jesus. For this reason, I hope your organization will be able to clear its issues unveiled by the ARC so that millions around the world will be able to focus back on your teachings rather than being troubled by the results of this commission in your regard.
Your fellow Christian,
House holder.

Tsunamis and Volcanos: why?
by StephaneLaliberte involcano eruptions and tsunamis kill at large scale and very often, without warning.
how do believers explain these away?
jehovah's witnesses say that humans die and suffer due to the original sin, but what do volcano's and tsunamis have to do with it?

Volcano eruptions and Tsunamis kill at large scale and very often, without warning. How do believers explain these away? Jehovah's Witnesses say that humans die and suffer due to the original sin, but what do Volcano's and Tsunamis have to do with it? And God was done creating the earth when humans were added to the garden of eden. He was satisfied with his work. Told them to dominate the earth, but it is obvious that humans would never be able to dominate volcano's, earth quakes and tsunamis. So why would God fix it for the paradise when it was already a problem when he created the world perfect in the first place?

1) rand() is a random number between 0 and 32767. This means that this statement would return false on occasion and would likely be difficult to find.
2) This is sabotage and the programmer could receive a hefty bill for the time invested in fixing this. The comment leaves no doubt about the intentions.
