Questions, what do you all think?
by Anti-Christ ini was thinking of a series of question we could ask a jw that would show him/her that they use circular reasoning, i would like to know what you think.. me: do you believe that the fds and gb are infallible and incorruptible?.
jw: no.
jw: by studying the bible.

Welcome tribalgirl!!!!
That you for sharing a little about yourself with us. I find it very interesting that so much of your family have stopped attending meetings. That in itself is a blessing. We're all here for you and please stick around and keep posting!!

What did you not like about the paradise?
by reneeisorym ini have always loved it when the seasons changes.
i was always told that we would have temerate weather all of the time and the seasons wouldn't chage.
i always thought i would miss the changing leaves, budding flowers after it has been so cold, and the snow.

if they only took enough time to think about it they would realize they really want to start living now.
My thought exactly. Everything for most of them at the present time is......."work hard for the organization now and enjoy everything else in the new system. Unfortunately, the general response to thinking about how paradise would be is..."wait on Jehovah to reveal things in due time", therefore eliminating any possible pondering about the "righteous new system".

A Future Tipping Point?
by metatron incurrently, congregations in the us might have an average of less than 5 elders each.
a large number of elders are debilitated by age or chronic illness.
in addition, i knew of many elders.

The congregations operated before '71 with one 'congregation servant' w/at least two or more ministerial servants for decades, could that happen again?
I'm speaking from a more local standpoint, but there are several congregations in my circuit that have one or two elders and have from between zero and two ministerial servants. I wonder what would happen if this was the case on a larger scale. It's at the point to where the MSs are handling elder responsiblities, such as things Service Committe members would handle. Again, this could be happening in many more areas, but i've heard that my particular area is quite unique when it comes to this. Perhaps someone could shed some light on this?

Funny things you used to believe
by 5thGeneration inone of my classics was because the bethel printing room was so clean then it must be jehovah's organization.. now i realize, of course, that most businesses keep their operations equally clean.. doh!.

I used to believe that just because JWs worldwide use the exact same study material that it's a sign of the Holy Spirit working through the organization. If that were so, I guess the Holy Spirit is operative in other businesses that operate worldwide.

Hi from a newbie here
by tere1998 ini joined this site about a week ago and have enjoyed reading all the posts and chatter.
i was raised in the jws, baptized at 17 (didn't know any better) but once i got married and had a baby, i just didn't have enough time to go to all the meetings during the week.
we got the "shepherding calls" and pretty much were looked down on for not going to all the meetings.

Welcome to JWD tere! We're all glad to have you!
Thank you for sharing your experience. It's another wonderful example that gives me hope to acheive my goals after leaving the organization(even though i'm technically "still in"). Definitely stick around, you can be an inspiration to many.

do you have someone you can truly rely on???
by chelsea inis there someone in your life who you know will be there when you really need them without a shadow of a doubt???
as much as i hope my girlfriends or whoever else will care about me and be there when i really need them, no one consistently has been, except for him, time and time again.
there are many very good reasons why i'm not with him anymore... but the fact that he cares more than anyone else is fairly persuasive... i don't want to go back to him, but what does one do when everyone else is too busy to care???

Chelsea,
In my opinion, as long as you both know the definition of your relationship and if things aren't weird between you two, then I say it's perfectly fine.
As for me, my sister is a person I can always rely on. We're best friends, get along great, and we always seem to know how the other feels even when we can't explain it. Gotta love sis!

Are there any known JW doctors?
by 4mylove ini think there is one at my hospital because of what a coworker said one time in reference to blood doctrine.
i can't imagine them going into medicine with all the time it requires, between school, residency, etc.
just wondering

There is a well know JW doctor from a nearby congregation. He has a practice in my city. I heard that he's served at bethel as a doctor a few times.
There's also a well known lawyer in the area too.
