Something for them to stumble over - Sister Greenleaf has nothing but CLOVER growing in her yard! It's the Devil Weed(forget about cannibis!), so she must be APOSTATE!

whilst searching for ideas of what to make with clover flowers i came across this quote:.
information, folklore, recipes, and resources -- all about the delicious, nutritious clover plant.. .
clover is one of the most famous of weeds, commonly sharing space with grass in lawns.. .
Something for them to stumble over - Sister Greenleaf has nothing but CLOVER growing in her yard! It's the Devil Weed(forget about cannibis!), so she must be APOSTATE!

so for those who got baptized....a question for you:.
did you feel any different?
in the talk prior to taking the plunge, we were told that baptism would would show that we're in subjection to jehovah, so that we could do his will...personally, i felt that somehow i'd have a greater urge to do more spiritually, but i didn't..the feeling wore off in a couple days, and i still had the desire to do college ect...my attitude about life didn't change.... how did ya'll feel after your baptism in the borg?.
I expected... something. Doves flying in mid-heaven, lightening strike... something.
Now I know why there was only a void... the wt is devoid of any holy spirit whatsoever.
After baptism I felt like I was virtually on my own and the jws didn't have to 'care' anymore now that I was one of 'em. I felt the weight of responsibility that being baptized brings - heavy and oppressive - do more - do more - do more - you're not doing enough - do more! Don't do that, don't do this, don't think that way, hate this, fear that - give MORE - things they trivialized became freakin' LAW.
No, God's spirit is not in or on or anywhere around the wt. Sometimes, only by being baptized into it, can you see how devoid of spirit it is... before then it's all smoke and mirrors and whitewash - it's looks are very deceiving to those who haven't had the experience. And good on them for having avoided that experience!

...which is just one of the interesting facts discussed in this essay on the history of singing in the jw religion.
.
http://www.cesnur.org/2013/swe-chryssides.pdf.
Then the December 1944 Informant (now called Our Kingdom Ministry) announced that other meetings would also include opening and closing songs. Singing once again became a part of Jehovah’s worship.
As if it had ever left being a part of real worship. They act as if God Himself stopped it, then started it again.
Crazy stuff.

should a female publisher wear a headcovering if she is accompanied by a male publisher at a door step bible study?
when a female publisher conducts a regular ,scheduled bible study and a male kingdom publisher is present, she should wear a head covering.(1cor.
11:3-10)the july 15, 2002 issue of the watchtower, page 27, explains: this is a pre arranged session of teaching where the one conducting the study actually presides.
Religion's nit-picky traditions are nothing but gnat-straining and camel-gulping!

Those pics really made me laugh out loud! Especially the "WTB$ Equalizer" - "because you Don't have a Weinie" - HILARIOUS!
That 'scriptural advice' has absolutely nothing to do with us now. It was, imo, about converted prostitutes who'd have their heads shorn - the 'head-covering' was in lieu of hair. So if a woman has hair and has not been punished as a prostitute by having her head shaved, then every woman is good to go, weinie or no weinie.
The wt is ridiculous on an entirely different level... you'd think they'd figure that one out since they're so deep into 'research' and all.
a few days ago, a detachment of the chinese navy started a visit to the us navy base at pearl harbour.. here's a few piks:.
us marine band perform to welcome the chinese fleet at the pearl harbor in hawaii, the united states, sept. 6, 2013. a naval fleet of the chinese people's liberation army (pla), which is comprised of the missile destroyer qingdao, missile frigate linyi and supply ship hongzehu, arrived at the pearl harbor on friday to start a three-day friendly visit, after which it will participate in a search-and-rescue exercise with the u.s. navy.
(xinhua/zha chunming).
I would think the USA would rather have China as a friend than an enemy.
btw, I wonder if any Japanese fleets have ever officially visited the Pearl Harbor Memorial site for similar photo-ops?

how do you guys feel about someone who gets an idea in his head that we want to hear the same phrase, often a nonsensical one, repeated in a dozen or more threads which may not have anything to do with the phrase in question?
it seems to me that we already have a rule, #5, about this..
It doesn't bother me. I can think of other more annoying examples of the same thing, but I tend to agree that it can be a person's way of coping in the moment. I'm like hortensia - nobody get my sense of humor/irony, but i think i'm hilarious/deep.
But I thought it was just a take on 'lights' - 'new lights, we love this idea' is a misquote from a Splane talk, isn't it, him explaining how the gb loves the idea of being the fds and only ones to answer to...?
I'm confused, too, lol. NS - WHAT is it?

What I fear is not so much about me... I have 2 granddaughters and I don't want them to get hurt in any way, physically, emotionally... I don't ever want them to be unhappy. However, rebounding from hurt and disappointment is how we grow and mature... it's a conundrum. Everytime they pass through another one of those painful 'learning moments', another of my fears has been realized. We all have to go through 'things'... but I wish I could somehow cloak them with invulnerability so they didn't have to. I love them more than I love myself.

ps - my 'fears' now are waaaay different than when I was a jw - fear of Jehovah, fear of satan/demons, fear of Armageddon, fear of everyone and everything... shew! glad to be shed of it!
i was at a amusement park here in calgary today.
my jw mother and my young brother came to visit for a week,so me and my sister thought it would a nice idea to take them to do something fun.
i guess they had a part of it called hallo street and my mom was getting all sketched out from all the halloween decorations around.
Me too, Apognophos. Never have been the superstitous type, and jws are VERY. They told me that "demons can cause depression"... nevermind that I was in a state of mourning - it was "the demons"! That really started me thinking... and thinking made me search... and searching made me see ttatt!
Another stupid thing... a 'sister' once told me that mentally-challenged folks "won't be in paradise because they're unable to understand and preach The Truth". That didn't sound right, so I disagreed with her on principle, but she said it's what the wt says... I don't know where they said it, but they might've...
Crazy stuff, yeah?

no self respecting jw would doubt the demons ability to attach themselves to physical objects.
for example if a jw put a poster on their wall of a pentagram or some other "satanic symbol" that's a "doorway" for the demunz.
it's inviting them into your home.
jam - that is the weirdest thing I've ever heard! and I've heard some pretty weird things... the devil's in your, as Dr. Oz would say, poo!?
So, are there any scriptures that show conclusively that demons possess things/inanimate objects? I can't recall a single one...
Just another one of religions' scare tactics - demons now and hell(or annihilation) later.
Imo God's not like that, but sadly, religion is.
