Did you get suspicious of the accuracy of 1914, and thats the reason you did all youre studies to try and prove to youreself that 1914 was correct, or was it just curiostity?

what i'm wondering is if you have hurt people by your actions and they happen to be jw's and your now disfellowshipped, and therefore they shun you, is there really anyway to say your sorry (other than submit to the congregation elders, and eventually (maybe) be reinstated).. this is kinda the situation i'm in.
i have done things that have hurt people, one's i see in connection with my family.
i want to be and say i'm sorry and regret things i have done, and yet it was never leaving the witnesses that i'm sorry for, rather my own actions that got me df.
They want you to be sorry for what you have done and repent and come back otherwise they think you are condemed to death and they will never see you again. The only way to get through this is to show love yourself, be happy if you can and allow that to overcome any negative or sorrow on you're part. Hope things work out.

children in the jehovah's witness religion really have it hard.
to compare, look at other churches.
most of them have sunday school, and this is geared to children that are not able to really comprehend the deeper things.
I think you are being a bit hard, other churches may allow their kids to run around, hey you can be member of any other org and smoke, I've seen parents outside the church steps down the road blowing smoke in their kids direction not ever giving a damn. Oh yes the children of churchs and other orgs, never swear, never smoke, always behave and treat people with dignity, and of course they dress like angles, not off of them mind you, and not all JW children are goodies either but the goodies by far out way the naughties. The people in the org are not perfect and don't say they are, they are strick with their children in discipline, and besides they don't run around the hall, if they do they are told not to for the saftey of others, older ones have been hurt and knocked down by kids that get carried away, the congo is not a play ground. Children in the org, go on barbeques, the movies, other JW kids places, they are not bored or deprived play or even sport.
I do not agree with the handling of abuse cases the headies tried to hide and I think it is reprehensible the way they have treated abused victims. but I know things have changed and hopefully they will continue to deal fairly and honestly with members of their congo in a loving and human way, the way Jesus treated his flock. Some don't, but not all do.
The org needs to get back to the basic principle that is of love, instead we find a lack of genuine love among many of the members, and the elders, hopefully things will improve. For my part I just try to show love, and am slowly backing of. But I cant and wont put down the majority just because of a few ar*sholes.

I read you're profile info...what was it precisly that made you start to doubt, as I believe to look things up and do other research from others especially on controversal things such as 1914 could seem that you were not happy prior. I hope that things will work out for you and you're family.
My biggest problem is the lack of love and feeling like an apostate even if I question anything. I truely love Jehovah and want to follow Jesus example as a Christian, but I feel that certain things the elders in the congo; bypass and feel as insignificant to me is worse than someone that may fall and have a cigerette and stop than someone that continually is nasty and a troublemaker, but they seem not to be able to do anything about this because they dont commit a grave sin, I think that is far worse as it makes one feel like dirt, why do they allow these nutters in the congregation to abuse and show no genuine love, I really am so angry about this.

i have come across some old threads that make various accusations against rayfranz, but i think on the whole he seems a kind and thoughtful person.
he didn't do everything right, and he is no saint as some make out: his expulsion is a bit flatteringly called a "crisis of conscience", but he came to terms with the disorienting situation well and did a service to all involved with the witnesses by giving us a look behind the curtain.

I think many that left after reading Franz were on their way out anyway, they just needed that push or excuse that's all. Now some look at ol Franz as Jesus, I am sure those that genuinly wait on Jehovah and do have some doubts will see a much better result in his due time. Sifting away.......

Hi I was wondering seeing that you were an elder if you could help me with a query. I would like to know what sort of records or information the congregations keep on their publishers, for example there conduct, or past transgressions, their being inactive, or marrying out of the truth, problems they have had with others in the truth, or anything they may assume of them. Also who is privy to these records, and if a new elder comes to the congregation is he allowed to view these personal files. I am so against it, I really believe we should be able to view our own personal information, and I I certainly would like to know what they are allowed to keep and show. I also am concerned that those that are married could leek certain things to their wives about others.Thanks for any help.
