I would rather worship the sun (and the moon) by participating in the greater Memorial--the eclipse. With a decent pair of eclipse glasses, one can watch the total eclipse (if you are in the path) or a partial one if you are near. Plus there is a lunar eclipse tonight. Hey, if they hate when I worship the sun by celebrating Christmas, I wonder what they are going to do when I worship both the sun and the moon. And no, I will not be going to worship that beady-eyed monster thing.

The Memorial and my thoughts.
by Truth and Justice inno matter what opinions you may have, the memorial is very important to us.
many are opposed to the way the organization performs the memorial because of restrictive rules as to who should partake.
as jesus said in scripture, "keep doing this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.

New rules for dress & greeting disfellowshipped: It's even worse!
by neat blue dog ini know they're panicking and trying to gain favor with governments, former members, prospective converts & those who are teetering, all for financial worries.
still, the latest update in some ways made things worse, and if there's any jws watching it who are beginning to wake up it should be very disturbing.. starting with dress codes: they say that suits, ties & skirts are no longer required, but in so doing they admit that they were required, something not often appearing as an explicit command in print.
(similar to how lett referred to the "policy on beards" in his video, even though this direct policy wasn't made available to rank and file.

It won't do a bit of good if you have hounders in the congregation that insist on wearing the classic suit, especially if they are picky about the color of your shirt or where you take it to be cleaned. And what if you have a small group that claims to be "stumbled" by someone wearing a nice Oxford shirt and matching pants (not suit clothes) with no tie, or a "sister" wearing nice business quality slacks in field circus or at a boasting session? They report being "stumbled" to the hounders, and before long you have that talk about not "stumbling" others. Even though the washtowel itself allows these items to be worn, you don't actually have the right if just one person is "stumbled".

New approach to ministry
by Mikejw inthere is a new approach to ministry where the direction is to just talk to people and listen to what they want to talk about.
the new school for the midweek meeting is completely different and is all about the new approach .
even before the no reporting changes field service dropped right off.

It won't do them any good if they continue insisting on mandatory coronavirus shots. The one time Tony the Turd did anything right, they booted him--for resisting mandatory coronavirus shots for the whole congregation. And I wonder if they are still wearing those useless face masks at the boasting sessions.

I would rather go to a real museum, such as the Boston museum of Science, instead. It would still cost me some money, but I find science far more appealing than going to a replica of a land that serves as a point of origin for all the curses we have on us today.

Waiting On Jehovah First Mentioned?
by Ron.W. inyes, waiting on jehovah for him to handle a problem/ doctrine etc.. when did the jw's first start saying that?

Waiting on this hyper-abomination only serves to allow that thing to let you languish, keeping all the problems it caused going, and you will simply SHUT UP about it while it harvests your soul. You are waiting, and that which you are waiting for never shows up at all. A complete waste of your time and resources.

Stop Funding Watchtower in Canada!

I don't fund them at all. If everyone would simply donate nothing, they would simply run out of money. The more they hound for money, the more people should reserve simply to not donate anything. No one is legally obligated to give the washtowel anything, and they deserve nothing. In the meantime, they ought to be taxed to the hilt on anything anyone does give them.

Smoking
by NotFormer inis it likely to be removed from the list of disfellowshippable offences?
given that the ban on smoking 🚬 is completely unbiblical*, might they ever remove it?.
*even mainstream christianity can only come up with one verse "against" it, the one that says that the body is the temple of the holy spirit.
-

Why would they remove it? It costs so much for a pack of cancer sticks--just think of what would happen if that money was removed from the donation boxes! It is true that smoking defiles the body (and so do coronavirus shots, but are they going to ban those?). It also wastes money on something that gives negative value, programming the soul to repel money. And it is stupid for anyone to start smoking those things.
But evil? The evil is for those pushing cancer sticks on the public, not those smoking them. Those are merely victims--similar to a mouse stuck on a glue trap. Like the mouse that gets stuck on those things, people are goaded into starting smoking and do not know what it is going to lead to. Also, like the mouse that gets caught in a glue trap, by the time you realize you are hooked, it is very hard to get out of it. Is it fair to disfellowship the victims? Or would it be better to help them to quit if they already smoke and to prevent them from starting if they don't?

Jehovah's Witness Governing Body, (New Light Division) Are Vegetable Oils not more important than Beards?
by was a new boy in'use vegetable oil and soft margarine in place of animal fat,'.

'when possible, cook with unsaturated vegetable oils.'.

They are recommending oils like canola (which I call rape oil) that go rancid inside the bloodstream, creating more inflammation and clots within your blood vessels. And they wonder why there are so many with heart trouble. As for margarine and shortening, go ahead and eat it--if you enjoy eating plastic. That is what these abominations are, plastic.
And avoid animal fats? Sounds like the jokehovian witlesses are trying to impose a vegan diet on the flock. A vegan diet is deficient in so many key nutrients, including fatty acids and vitamin B12. We are not meant to be herbivores, idiots! You are better off eating high quality animal fats and coconut oil in place of these highly processed seed oils, including rape oils and the trans fats found in margarine and shortening (plastic). Obviously, too much of any type of fat will lead to too many calories and will result in your getting fat.
But, what else can you expect? These are the same idiots that are trying to make the coronavirus shot mandatory.

The ''dreaded'' birthday cake
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe watchtower—study edition | september 2023. study article 39. let mildness be your strength.
11 if a workmate asks, for example, why we do not celebrate birthdays, consider: could he be wondering whether we are allowed to have a good time?
or might he feel that our position will dampen the company’s team spirit?

If celebrating holidays and birthdays make the beady-eyed monster thing so mad, all the more reason to do them to the hilt (of course, spending within your means and not drink driving). Yes, Christmas is originally a pagan holiday to worship the sun. But, since the sun controls the solar system, what is so wrong with that? They pick and choose what is going to be the most fun, and ban it. This makes people all the more miserable, which serves the beady-eyed monster thing they worship.
And what about the ban on smoking, together with requiring something that is about 20 times worse (and I am assuming a 2 pack a day smoking habit)? Those torture shots are going to result in many health issues. Many of these are nuisances (prostate problems, UTI's, frequent headaches and not feeling well episodes, and so on) that people can go out in field circus anyways, ballyhooing them for serving the beady-eyed monster thing under more adversity. Others are much more serious (type 1 diabetes, cancer, serious heart trouble, strokes, and so on), not to mention getting AIDS directly from those shots (not even HIV, just plain AIDS). More colds and flu, and more serious ones. Hey, at least they are not allowed to smoke.
They need to get their priorities straight. Which of these pagan practices are actually going to cause problems? Celebrating holidays is certainly not going to cause trouble--unless, that is, people drink and drive as part of them or they spend beyond their means and get a whole year of debt to pay for it. As I see it, there is nothing wrong with attending an office event to commemorate a retirement, a birthday, or holiday--certainly you are not going to drink drive to get to and from such or spend more than you can afford. I, for one, will be enjoying whatever sun-worship events we do get at work. And no, I will not be getting that torture shot.
