Is there anything you could do forever that wouln't get boring?
by mynameislame innot sure when i came to this conclusion but i can't imagine living forever.
after a while i think i would be completly bored with everything.. not saying i wouln't like to live for a few hundred years or maybe even a few thousand if i could travel through space and discover other universes star trek style.
but the thought of living forever sounds like it would eventually become a complete drag.. maybe i'm wrong, maybe after a thousand years or so you would foregt all the stuff that happend at the beginning and just start over in an infinite loop..

Knowing that probably the last thing most of the b/s want to do is actually go from house to house, taking the field service arrangement would be a great opportunity to use scriptures like...
Mark 6:30,31. Jesus encouraged rest. Probably this is a good opportunity to apply that encouragement.
You could assign one group to go to a peaceful place like the library and take a nap to meditate on Jesus words.
Another group could be assigned to park witnessing.
Ecclesiastes 11:1 could be applied. Sitting by a lake and throwing the tracts and magazines in it would be very therapeutic. We never know what the result of that could be.
If there are enough to make another group they could be assigned to go to the local cemetery. Ps 115:17. There they can find a lot of people resting and not praising Jehovah, so it would be a good place to practice presenting the magazines. The reaction from the those RIP would probably be about the same as the one that would be found in the the house to house work, so it would be beneficial to hone witnessing skills.
Probably those scriptures would be good. -

Who actually writes the kingdom Ministry?
What motivates someone to write a blanket
condemnation of people who are not JW's?
Para 2 page 2...
Punctuality has become the exception
during these last days when many peo-
ple are lovers of themselves and without
self-control.How do they know how punctual (or not) people are.
Also it depends on the culture.
In some cultures not being
punctual is part of the way of life.
No one thinks of it as being "wrong".
How do they get to print such comments wihtout any support
for the statement whatsoever except a loose connection with a scripture
(2 Tim 3:1-3) which could be used to "support" any negative statement.
Yet, I can see the heads nodding during this meeting part....
(Yeah..people in the world are always late and it really terrible isn't
it. I thank Jehovah I am not like that.......white noise .....ssssssssssssss)
I wonder how the KM is put together. Anyone have any insight on this?

No more circuit assemblies
by justmeok ini heard from a reliable source that there will be no more 2 day assemblies, but instead 2 one days each year.
anyone heard this yet?
supposed to start new service year.

Talking of assemblies in the past, I remember, with a great deal of mental anguish, the 8 day assembly
I attended as a teenager in 1969. I was living in London at the time and it was held at Wembley Stadium.
Strangely enough I downloaded a report on the assembly from here just the other day
https://archive.org/details/ReportOfThe1969PeaceOnEarthInternationalAssemblyOfJehovahsWitnesses
The report is almost as long as the assembly. But I remember on the 4th day I had had enough.
I walked out halfway through and went off somewhere to decompress.
How on earth could the WTS have felt that these assemblies were beneficial.
All I can say is that happily those kind of assemblies were never repeated ( at least I think so).
Any predictions on here about shortening the District ( or soon to be called Regional ) convention to 2 days? 1 day? Half a day?
......please.

CIRCUIT ASSEMBLIES KEEP SHRINKING IN SIZE - WAY TO GO!!
by steve2 inthe recent boe letter announcing changes to the duration of circuit assemblies was warmly received by congregations the worldover.
it was as if the brothers and sisters were already in the new world for, upon hearing this news, there were no tears at all.
instead, it is a humble acknowledgement from the gb of the mind-numbing, yawn-inducing 2-day circuit assemblies.. .

They probably are doing away with the title Special Assembly Day
because the acronym spells SAD which is what most witnesses were when the date for the
meeting was announced and even more so when sitting through the meeting itself.
Now it will be just two CA a year. What does CA stand for I wonder?

Most Annoying Things That Happen At JW Meetings
by LittleSister intoday i was remembering how angry i used to get at the meetings and all the little irritations that in the end would just make my blood boil these included:.
prayers that go on foreverstudy or wt conductors still taking comments when its clear that the point has been covered 20 times alreadymeetings over running by more than 5 minsmy favourite was this one elder who would play guess the point i am thinking of.
he would keep rephrasing the question from the wt until someone would bring up the point he was thinking of.

The totally useless "demonstrations" that purportedly show how to present the magazines
or the "offer of the month" etc. Most are completely removed from reality and achieve absolutely
nothing. "Thanks for the great demonstration Brother". Huh?????

One piece of information about the origin of shepherd was interesting:
Source: Online Etymology Dictonary
Old English sceaphierde, from sceap "sheep" (see sheep) + hierde "herder," from heord "a herd" (see herd (n.)). Cf. Middle Low German, Middle Dutch schaphirde , Middle High German schafhirte , German dialectal Schafhirt .
Shepherds customarily were buried with a tuft of wool in hand, to prove on Doomsday their occupation and be excused for often missing Sunday church.
Watch out, they may be after your hair on the next shepherding call
