  JW's and Internet. Wikipedia?

  jh posted a thread about how wikipedia clearly shows how goofy the doctrine of jw's has been in changing over the years.

  so it makes me wonder could wikipedia be the driving force in the no "independent" study?

  i know that my whole family uses wikipedia often and use it as a respected source when researching things.

  you are absolutely right.

  I know others, even elders that use wikipedia. They read all kinds of the links on the JW page, even about Ray Franz. I can assure it leads elsewhere.

  I for one am a perfect example, "Hell, its just Wikipedia" so I read it and kept on clicking. The next think you know I stopped going in service, purchased and read C of C, and have been living on the edge of a nervous breakdown ever since....that was less than one year ago!

  BTW - Ive seen the Wiki JW article vandalized 2 times. Once it said "JW's are nuts" in the opening text, another time it had a whole paragraph inserted as to how they are a mind control cult - the second time I was with a brother showing him the site and how accurate it was too! Too funny!

  How do people continue to buy into the Watchtower???

  folks,.

  with all the information out there, available for all to see; exposing the lies,hypocrisy, and outright ridiculousness (is that a word?..if not it should be) of this whole witness religion, how in the world are people still buying into this?.

  is it because i don't have jehovah's spirit anymore?

  dont you remember being one of them? i thought im a critical smart person but felt immediately guilty when i only spent a single thought on the possibility there could be something wrong with my religion. its not easy to allow yourself being critical in this case when you were once fully in.

  Freeme, hows it going buddy? I totally know where you are coming from with this. I feel that guilt eventhough I know more about JW teachings than anyone in my cong. I sat at the Revelation study last night listening to the most rediculous comments you have ever heard. Not even the conductor was paying attention. One bro gave a completely wrong answer and the conductor said "yes" and then repeated his comment! It was as if nobody there even cared if they understood what was in the book, they were just getting through another study. I sat there in amazement of how rediculous that book is and as I analyzed the info I felt both angry and guilty. I feel guilty for not commenting cause the conductor is sitting there looking at blank faces, and I know ppl presume ' I ' am the unintelligent one in the room. That ' I ' am the one that is missing out on the "good things from Jehovah". Then I get pissed off about it and give an intelligent comment that is factual and scriptural, and contains words with more than one or two syllables. 3 brothers in the whole room, The conductor, the idiot, and me. Well guess who didnt say prayer or read? Yup, me. The conductor said prayer, the idiot read and also said prayer. Me, the only guy in the room that actually understood a GD word in that study, the only one in the room that actually gives a shit about what he is reading, the only one in the room that actually "examines" (Matthew 23:17) the wording and punctuation to actually "get the sense" (1 Peter 4:5) of the "flood" (Genesis 3:2-17) of doubletalk and manipulation of "life giving water" (1 John 1:3) that we are "drinking" (Rev 6:21) at the meetings (Heb 10:24,25). I am so sick and tired of this bullshit but I feel like I can never get rid of it!WHY? WHY? WHY?

  do you know why the nwt starts verse 2 of daniel ch.

  1 with the words "in time..." which are not in the original hebrew text nor in any of the english translations i checked?.

  has it to do with supporting their 607 b.c.e.

  from the west coast? Well I see she posted at 7am eastern std time so that would mean she's posting at 4am western time.....

  I'm willing to bet she is more likely on the other side of the country.

  Dont ask me why I actually noticed this..... I guess I just cant believe how many of us start our day here.

  Marriage in heaven or for those resurrected...

  this is one thing that has always bothered me.

  i know that when we are married, that when one mate dies, that the marriage is disolved; but when both mates die; for example at the same time (car accident, or whatever..) if all that die do actually end up going to heaven, does that mean that they will not be together once again??

  according to some scriptures, it states we will all be given in marriage to jesus.

  I remember while in the JW's being told that those that are resurrected will not be able to be given in marriage for they will be as the angels in heaven. That's one thing that never made since to me either. If we are resurrected and are to be living on the earth in paradise, how can we be as angels, and why cannot we enjoy the companionship of marriage??

  this is one thing that always creates an interesting conversation when I am around. The official WT dogma on this is that those resurrected in the new system will not marry again.

  This is from the scripture where Jesus debated the resurrection with the Saducees. They asked him about a wife of 7 different men, who's wife would she be after resurrected? He said that she would neither marry nor be given in marriage, she would be like the angels. Or, not married.

  I cant remember all the details as to why the WT concludes this but I recall reading the info and seeing why they came to that conclusion.
  HOWEVER, I will never agree with that teaching.
  To me, Jesus merely stated that the woman would not STILL be married to any man nor would He "give" her to any of her previous husbands. Death ended the marriage(s).
  I cant see how in any stretch of the imagination that Jesus here indicated his plan to have millions of single people roaming the earth for eternity while watching a few thousand enjoy companionship.

  For some reason this still comes up now and then and NOBODY in the org. seems to know the official stance of the WT. The reason nobody knows is because this MAJOR teaching regarding the new system would seriously not sit well with many many people. This seems to just get swept under the rug. And even if it is answered as the WT claims, everyone always says: "well we'll have to wait and see, Jehovah is a loving god. We just need to GET THERE first!"

  this horse is what a horse should look like.

  (don't look at it too long or you may be tempted) now look at the same white horse on page 23 of the feb 15th 2008 wt.
