  people say that to you??????????????? that is how they justify plugging their ears and yelling "HHHHHMMMMMMMMMMM I CANT HEAR YOU I CANT HEAR YOU!!!!" ?????

  Mainly its my wife who tells that to me... since she knows my faith in the Bible is about the size of a mustard seed, that's her excuse for not listyening to my sound arguments.

  i have heard this argument used by others in the past. Its the JW defense kicking in. As if to say we cant use the bible as a reference anymore because you dont believe it.

  But the point is THEY BASE THEIR ARGUMENT ON THE BIBLE. If you show them secular evidence its Satan, if you show them the bible, YOUR Satan, so why would they listen to you?

  Oh what an Orwellian web they weave.....

  You go ahead and continue to revel in your jw days. That is your right.

  you are absolutely intitled to your oppinion and feelings. We were/are all hurt by the WTS, including the many contributors to this thread.

  As S4 stated, it was not the press room guys that wagged the org. These truly believed they were doing what was right, they were misguided the same way you were. But they saw it for what it was and left and endured the pain and consequences that resulted.

  But think about this.... as we all strive to piece our lives back together and struggle with feelings of worthlesness and isolation, is it wrong to be able to look back on our lives and find the positive in our experiences? Do we not already struggle trying to find meaning in our life?

  I for one believe that if we can find these gems, these "fun" times and good memories, then despite all the craziness in our lives we can somehow piece together a life that has some meaning.

  i remember a Bethel bro up here in canada telling me about a time when some bros in NY got caught renting adult films (porn)

  I guess once per week the canada branch would tie in over the phone to NY and listen to the breakfast pep talk. Well one morning the GB member (i cant remember who) got up and mentioned how a local store owner had come to bethel and reported that he had been renting out several adult films to men with the bethel address and that he didnt think this was appropriate so he brought it to Bethels attention.

  The brother then said that everyone of those movies had better be returned to the store before work started that morning.

  I was shocked, i said "can you imagine how they must have felt?" he said to me "can you imagine how they felt when they saw a bethel overseer in the store waiting for them?"

  this would have happened in the late 80's early 90's

  does anyone remember this?????

  I have been asking her about the 607 date regularly and how its not in any textbook. She even admits that if the 607 date in incorrect then everything falls apart. But she says that we still have to try hard to prove Satan a liar. And she says she will look into that date later. The Jehovahs Witness faith is her entire life, both her parents and one brother have died and thats just in her inner family, she wants so badly to believe. And to be truthful, I want to believe that I will be in a Paradise Earth, seeing and talking to my family members. Such a wonderful hope. I wont try to persuade her any more, its too too hard on her, I sometimes wish I had never come across this site or the other Truthful Sites about JWs, but as I have said before its a bit of a love hate, therapeutic relationship with JWD.

  i can totally appreciate that!

  funny how we can actually wish we REALLY truly believed this BS !!!

  OMG!!! I have been crying for the last 2 hours...I just got Pell grant!!!!

  pell grant is a federal grant for low income people that wants to go to college but doesn't have that much money to support it.. ok, here's my story.... my ex makes good money...i get divorced but they still use the "last" years tax...meaning, even though i'm not "making" that money anymore "too bad".. i've been in college for 2 1/2 years now, ending my first degree, signing up for my ba.... i was just approved for pell grants and "other" federal assistance for college!!!!!!!!.

  i've been after them for 2 years and it's finally arrived.... what does that mean for me????.

  my loans won't be 15,000 per degree but rather more like 4,000....i don't have to worry about buying my books anymore.

  The Revelation book?

  i just came back from a weekend visit with my parents and i noticed this book all over - it gave me a bad feeling for some reason.

  now, i only came after the book study was over since they have it at their house, so that's another reason why it was probably left out.

  however, i consider this apocalyptic cult a concern and one of the reason i scan on here from time to time is to keep to date on what is going on.

  the Seven Trumpet blasts were a sereis of seven "proclamations" made by Rutherford at 7 consecutive District Assemblies back in the 1920's. Ya, God himself prophesied through John 2000 years ago the assinine ramblings of an ego-maniacal drunk!

  Even better, everyone and everything is the 144000 annointed. Serious everything in Revelation are the annointed.
  Of course the 144k are, the 24 elders are, and now the generation are also the 144k.

  The Great Crowd are in Heaven but actually on earth.

  The 144K are "sealed" in 1914 in that they are "assuredly" going to be sealed one day, they are singing before the 24 elders (themselves) a song.
  The COMPLETE 144K are singing, but they are only there symbolically, but it is as if they are there because those still on earth that are yet to be resurrected to heaven are "living with heavenly life in view". As for those singing the song in 1914 before themselves, who were not even born yet, or perhaps have yet to be born, these ones, uhm..... well, Jehovah has purposed the 144k to be complete so it is as if these phetuses and sperm and eggs have actually lived long lives, died, and have been resurrected retoractively to 1914 to sing the song no one was able to master before the 24 elders, er, themselves....

  yes this is the most rediculous book that has ever been printed. And this is only the BS I remember!!!!!
