before i quit going to the meetings just before they announced that someone was to be reinstated they would ask that the congregation not clap due to the seriousness of the situation.
i thought it was so pathetic.
do they still announce that now when some one is reinstated?.
If I'm ever ready to go out with a "Bang" though, I'm gonna start clapping when they announce a DF, stand up and clap my way all the way out of the K Hall.
(At least that's how it plays out in my dreams)

BTW, they dont announce it. We all know now. But I do remember years ago when it first became taboo to clap there was a person reinstated and everyone clapped and the PO and his wife just sat there shocked and NOT clapping. Thats when they had a local needs on it.

LOL all, well here it is! Of all the talks I've written in less than 20 minutes this one took me hours!! Anyway, I am going to "trade" this talk with someone cause I wont be home in time to give it so I wrote it to make it easier to give away. Oh by the way, I wrote this whole talk without fawning over 1914!!

he pointed out that apostates that picket conventions are usually the worst kind of "apostates" they usually seem angry and uneducated.

Admittedly though, ppl that do that really do only reinforce the belief that all apostates are evil and hateful and are often only laughed at and mocked by JW's after the fact. I remember in 1985 coming out of Montreal Olympic stadium and walking into the "tent city" (where we lived in a tent-trailor for 5 days!) and on top of the bridge were apostates yelling and talking with megaphones. There was even one person dressed up in a monkey suit!! It was quite funny, he probably doesnt even know he is quite a celebrity cause JW's still give comments now and then about him at the KH when a watchtower on apostates comes up!
I also remember one banner that said : "MILLIONS THAT WILL NEVER DIE ARE DEAD!"

apparently also starting in the new year along with public/private watchtowers the sunday public talk will be reduced to 30 minutes from the current 45 minutes while not lengthening the wt study.
i hear the reasoning is to give the "brothers" more time to associate after the meeting.

i associate it with entertainment tricks pulled by stage performers.. i never experienced any weird happenings during my only two visits to a kh.

I can say that there was one time that they used electronic deception and there are times I think they use some sort of gas in the air conditioning

there was one time I heard a voice talk over the guy on stage , don't know where it came from and for the longest time thought I had some sort of religious experience
I remember as kid working at the mighty Burger King one day we heard voices coming over our internal PA, it was a guy talking on a CB radio. Apparently it was far more common years ago when these types of PA systems were much more vulnerable to other signals. Some people knew this and would taunt us lowely burger flippers from the parking lot!! It was actually pretty funny....

doesnt the society put assembly halls and kingdom halls in the names of local servants so that they are disconnected? I know they have allowances and loopholes to get things back if ppl go awry but still....... I am sure I heard a report read about our circuit assembly hall that had in it the name of the brother that lived on the premises and looked after it.................
