the literature servant told me that their instructions are to only give one study wt per publisher starting with the january 1st, 2008 issue.
under no circumstances are they to provide any other copies (if lost or whatever, much like kms are provided now).
any guests attending the wt study will be provided a copy, but then the servant who gave them the copy must confiscate it after the meeting.
If they start checking, you simply fake an emergency about 2/3 into the study and run out the door before they have a chance to take the Kool Aid away from you. They could start locking doors to prevent that, but one call to the fire department to report a serious fire code violation will take care of that problem and create some embarrassment for them. And, in the confusion, you can sneak the Kool-Aid out anyway.
a little mellow dramatic dont ya think? I wonder where some people come up with stuff like this... i mean really...
i just heard this announced last night.
it starts jan 01-08 and i guess more is to come in the future.
you can even have them sent to you automatically when you go online.. all subscribers to cd's are asked to consider cancelling their subscribtions and download.

well its finally here........ the day i get the pep talk.. considering i havent been out in service for 6 months and i never comment because i cant parrot the wt, and i havent been to the book study in 2 months cause the revelation book makes me nausious........ (that why no more revelation weekly reviews --- sorry oompa!
yet when i talk with bro's and sis's i seem to be the one in the know, i am the one that knows what is going on in the org and am up on the "new light".
i am "so smart".
well things went pretty smooth.
I was not put on the spot about the FDS or anything like that. And as it turns out my wife did ask for a "sheparding visit"
They basically said they noticed I have not been out in service and that is a "danger sign". Then they asked me if there was anything I wanted to share with them.
Well, based on my wife finding C of C I did not want to say "no" and then have my wife bring it up so I jumped in about the blood issue. I told them I was having difficulty accepting this new light, which is true BTW. So the one elder went through the decades of circumcision arguments the disciples had and how they had a hard time accepting that change and Jehovah had patience with them on it for decades before Titus finally said that ones insisting on circumsision should be expelled from the cong. It was actually a very good illustration as to God's patience in dealing with imperfect humans.
So that was good but didnt exactly change anything.
It was at this point where I said the real problem was that the more I reasoned on the logic behind fractions the more the blood issue appeared to be "fleshly" reasoning and not spiritual and that it had sparked in me a fleshly viewpoint of the WTS.
I pointed out that I am fortunate enough to have not lost loved ones for refusing fractions that are now acceptable, but that the thought of this having occured to others caused me to question how this could have been from Jehovah, I said "we certainly dont accuse Jehovah of evil". Thus it added to my fleshly view point of the WTS.
They agreed. They had to. They even admitted that neither of them had filled out their blood cards either nor anyone in their families. In the end they basically acknowledged that the WTS is imperfect and not inspired and that our present understanding on blood may not be the final one. I didnt push this any farther as I really do want to rock the boat right now.
The one elder then talked about 1975 a bit and how so many then served with a date in mind and left. He acknowledged that the society did apologize for leading ppl to conclude that 1975 would be the year and that they indeed did lead ppl to believe that. That was interesting to hear an elder not whitewash what happened.
So I added - "well it happened in 1914 and 1925 also." to which he said he remembered being 4 years old at an assembly and being all excited about meeting the resurrected King David and how the "princes" were then believed to be resurrected on earth and that was in 1950. It was an interesting conversation but I had to handle carefully so as not to rock the boat.
In the end they invited me out in service Saturday morning as I expected, so now when you are all sleeping in this Sat. morn I will be in a mini-van with my suit and tie on! Hopefully they will take it easy on me. LOL
Afterwards I talked with my wife and expanded my thoughts on the fleshly viewpoint of the WTS and she said she understands why I feel that way. She also understood why I wanted to know about the history of the org and expressed an interest to know more herself so I am hoping to open her eyes to things starting with the Proclaimers Book. Yes it white washed history but my commentary will fill in this gaps.
Anyway, that is what happened. I have no idea what will follow. Maybe a local needs on blood cards??
Thanks all for your advice and concern, I consider you all my friends and right now I need friends who are on my side.
Bye for now!

Hi all,
Open Mind - the #4 talk went well. I talked to the elders before hand and told them I was "waiting on jehovah" when it came to the blood stance so I did not feel I had freedom of speech on the topic. They said that they wanted me to give the talk if I felt ok with it. So I gave it and added the part about fractions to what the RB had. I noted that "it goes without saying that fractions come from blood that was donated for medical purposes" ie: not poured out on the ground. I got all kinds of compliments and "way to go's" My talk was very well worded, I couldnt expose myself but I had to show dichotomy. I think I did well. thanks for asking........
Flipper
I looked back over your topics and now I remember you went through hell with your wife finding your " Crisis of Conscience book" , correct ? How did that go ? That may have a bearing on how you respond to the elders , do ya think? Is your wife over her shock of finding you with the book? Was it her who has put the elders up to visit you today ?
Ya, boy that was a great day. My wife has settled down although we dont talk about it. She has not told anyone nor did she have anything to do with the "E" Team coming over tonight. In fact, she has barely been out in service either and I find myself going to meetings often without her! Its funny how some meetings are actually "easier" to attend now that I go with a different frame of mind, almost investigative.
I dont believe she would bring up the book although I know it will be on her mind. I think she thinks I am past it. That it was a "phase" that I am over.
As for the elders coming over tonight, they are the nice kind. I like them both and I see them just trying to encourage me. I dont believe either of them suspect anything other than "weakness" and needing encouragement.
I dont think tonight will be a big deal but I see the invitations to service after the meetings on Sunday and for Saturday morning coming now.
"why dont you join my family on Saturday for service?" Great. Then I have to say "no thanks" To which they say "Oh, are you busy?" To which I say, "No, I just dont want to go"
LOL
Well they are over at 8 pm. Maybe I will crack out the Rye. We'll see about the tunes. ;)
Thanks all!................ Still_in74

Yet when I talk with bro's and sis's I seem to be the one in the know, I am the one that knows what is going on in the org and am up on the "new light". I am "so smart". I am an accomplished public speaker outside the org so when I give talks I give "good" talks. "why isnt he an elder?" people have asked.
So I am sure I am going to be presented with the speech about how they can "use" me and how I could help the congregation. How I have so much potential to expand my privileges in Jeh's org.
Any advice?? Any elders here that can give me a heads up?
.
would you rather take a shower, or a bath?
i prefere showers with water hot as i can stand and i don't mean in scrub up, rinse, out....linger uneder the water is so relaxing...what about you..?.

love yall, .
Did you see in the 2007 TMS for the week of Dec 24 - 07???
For talk # 3 it has a part about calculating 1914 and then has the following:
In the meantime, the very difficult conditions foretold for "the last days" would prevail. As shown under the heading "Last Days," those events have been clearly in evidence since 1914. Before the last members of the generation that was alive in 1914 will have passed off the scene, all the things foretold will occur, including the "great tribulation" in which the present wicked world will end.—
So this guy is preparing information that has been outdated for 12 years???? the real irony is that it changed again since he put it together!
It will be interesting to see how many changes will be made over the course of 2008 that will nullify his 2008 TMS!
the annual report will no longer appear in the watchtower.
starting in 2008, it will appear as an insert in our kingdom ministry as well as in the yearbook.. .
for more than seventy years, the annual report of the worldwide activity of jws has been proudly publicised in the january 1st editions - and more latterly the february 1st editions of the watchtower magazine.
I have a hunch that the new "Study Edition" of the Watchtower will eventually replace the Kingdom Ministry
i think there was a whole topic dedicated to this hunch.
I have noticed we are already using the WT on various service meeting parts, I read the new edition and it seemed that we might begin using the WT more often as a service meeting publication. This could have deeper articles than the KM but be produced much easier and more rapidly than books. This would have us studying the WT for more than just Sunday and really enforce that the WT is the main publication of the JW's.
As for replacing the KM, I dont see it happening.......... although I cant say that it couldnt happen
