chatting with my hubby, he made yet another comment that made my blood boil.
he was explaining that his parents are going to mexico for the wedding of a family friend.
my hubby said he was like a brother to him, but coulnd't remember his name for a second (sad).
i had planned to marry an italian or french girl for convenience in order to get dual citizenship...then this damn thing called love smacked me upside the head, so my plan failed miserably.....but for the better since love ain't a bad reason to get married to someone.
so, why is it that we (xy chromosomes) feel obligated to grow beards once we leave the org?
i've had a little 'chin' beard for about the last 8 years, but every year in november i try to grow the whole thing out... but inevitably i fail miserably.

wasn't there some jesus dude who got pissed off at the religious leaders of his day b/c they forced idiotic traditions like washing up to the elbows before eating, etc. if the bible is true, then the wtbts is more aligned with who jesus was fighting against during the first century. jesus would definitely be labeled an apostate if he as a jw.
i've enjoyed reading through many of the topics on this site, as i can relate to many of you.
when i stumbled on this site i thought it was an active jw forum, but i was pleasantly surprised.
i was born and raised as a witness, but luckily wised up when i was in my late teens.
i have maintained three....all of whom i believe are living a bit vicariously through me and can't make the jump yet.
i hear people say they left the org.
for this or that reason.. in your case, was there more than one reason why you left ?.
i left because there was a lack of true love towards me.
One reason solidified my fade, the different politics of different congregations, one wouldn't sweat you for college, another would be up your ass...the inconsistency of power hungry elders was my main reason.
then the other 50 or so reasons finally hit me upside the head after i left and could look at it from the outside.
tonite i've just really felt peace of mind.
i was thinking of some of my so-called old best friends who will have nothing to do with me because i won't drone with them in the borg.
it just feels so good to be away from them and the lame judgements regarding the music i listened to, the running commentary of every move i made because i was on my way to being successful, and anything above an uneducated janitor was a complete threat..
i forgot to mention on the top of the mountain i sacrificed my first born child to baal at an altar i built...so things are really going to start looking good for me any minute. ;)

I used to feel a lot of pain, loss, etc., from losing my friends of 20 years, from when I was a toddler, and it's really hit me, I feel like I've reached the top of the mountain and yoddling while they stare at the mountain, too scared to climb.
i don't live in san francisco, but it is within not more than a day's drive from my front door.
here's a couple things to check out if you ever get near the golden gate.
one is free and semi-unknown.
best neighborhood in san francisco is the mission district and the surrounding areas. also oakland has some amazing neighborhoods.
it's the best kept secret b/c there's gang problems, etc. to keep the tourists out and keep yuppies from moving in, so the artists keep it real with the locals.
especially oakland, you wouldn't believe how amazing the city is once you really hang out for a while.
the mission district of san francisco is 'hip' and on weekends some bars and restaurants cater to people scared to walk the 'hood, so they have valet parking where you don't even have to experience one of the most amazing neighborhoods in san francisco. and we like it that way....and those people would get mugged b/c they can't go anywhere without their $3000 hang bags.
still lots of gentrification in certain areas, but it's the small areas of concentrated latino families and artists who make it amazing.
ah, the greatest place on earth and i get to live here.
