  Could it be that the WTBTS “lost its luster” because of the compounding investment returns on its financial holdings has finally exceeded the intrinsic value of the “rank and file” of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

  No need to try and make the effort as in the past. For those who sacrificed themselves to make the WTBTS what it has become today are no longer as important.

  The WTBTS has pulled the “rabbit from the hat” long ago; you simply didn’t observe the slight of hand, Metatron.

  I’m sorry, Aaron but your New Age philosophy, although well meaning, has proven through thousands of years of its history to be an utter failure. Among other things it’s too easily used by unscrupulous characters for their own nefarious ends by manipulating others

  Maybe it’s time to move over and give something else a try, say the Marxist-Leninist version of Communist doctrine; its history has been far more benign.

  By the way you said, “Such a direct relationship is available by means of the free gift of holy spirit”. Apparently this “free gift” is now available by means of a computer and an Internet provider.

  i guess that might say something in and of itself.. thanks to everybody who replied to my last post i just got through reading the responses.

  i have to say i didn't clarify my last post very well as i was pretty emotional at the time.

  i would definately fade out of the congo slowly if i could but the thing is i'm still living at home so it would be very hard to do.

  Well I'll figure out something I suppose........

  Here's a thought;

  Always have a couple of cashiers checks handy and made out to the Watchtower Bile and Tract Society in denominations of 25, 50 or 100 dollars, depending on your financial wherewithal or the gravity of your situation.

  When you suspect you’ll be confronted for lack of “correct” spirituality by persons in authority such as your parents or elders and before any dialog, you might say,

  “Oh, by the way, now that I’m going to college and expect to making a substantial wage, I need to begin donating more of my potential earnings to the WTBTS for "obvious" reasons.

  “Could you please deposit this in the KH contribution box for me? I sure would appreciate it if you did…Thank you soooo much.”

  “Now…what was it you wanted to talk to me about?”

  Info about the tax case in France

  i had a quick discussion with my jw wife yesterday about the tax case in france.... she argued that the taxes "suddenly were to be paid back dated several years").

  i argued that it was because that the wtbts had problems maintaining there religion status.... could anyone inform me (or show me where i can find some mere info) explaining the exact problem (for the org).. i read somewhere (in an old h20 post from ginny - found on watchtowernews) that the taxes should have been paid from the beginning but weren't and therefore penalties and interests also were to be paid.. i also understand that there may be similar cases coming up in other european cuntries.. kind regards.

  A minor point, France, like any government doesn’t like to be taken advantage of materially or culturally, especially by an American company.

  The WTBTS is "without a doubt" an American company, and the government of France is determined to maintain control of its French culture by rejecting Americanization.

  i disassociated myself a few years ago due to my disbelief regarding many things in the bible.

  Most assuredly some would carry on independently; cult behavior cannot be turned off with a switch. However a corporation can.

  Just as with any business, if there weren’t a "dollar" to be had, the need for the WTBTS and its affiliate corporations to "finance" Jehovah's ministry by controlling six million consumers and benefactors both, would cease to exist, period.

  A Message of Hope

  it's been a long time since i've visited this site.

  the last time that i was here i was not allowed to participate in this forums discussions for as it was explained to me, "you dont share in our beliefs, therefore your comments, ideas, and expressions would cause conflict, and disunity among those of us who do share in the truth.

  " the day i recieved the denial, i broke down in tears and prayed that jesus christ would bring down the walls of hatred and mistrust among those here and that he would allow me the blessed opportunity to some day share the joy that i have found in him.

  Although I wouldn't call them paragraphs, "spaces" still makes your posts much easier for us "older" folks to read. And I really appreciate the attempt.

  sunday mornings are now my most favorite day of the week.. it used to be that i'd get up early and prepare for service or study my wt.

  yep, i was one who had her wt highlighted in several colors and had scriptures jotted in the margins.

  if i didn't have it underlined, i felt guilty.
