I remember the day I ceased to worry about gaining my JW parents and siblings approval and being on these discussion forums help immensely to that end.

I’m jealous…Victoria is a beautiful city from my perspective. From what I understand there’s quite a contingent of former Jehovah’s Witnesses residing in the Pacific Northwest and if I lived anywhere near, it would take all of five seconds for me to decide and jump a ferry to meet up with the likes of wasasister, and others for an afternoon.

Maybe one day…but I’m so “far” away, only in my dreams.

Claiming special status as a “Christian” is ultimately meaningless, unless for “political” reasons, such as claiming the “moral high-ground” and/or creating a protective division between those who don’t believe, is simply a form of “spiritual” abuse to begin with.

By subjectively calling ones self a “Christian”, one is still capable of being the perpetrator of “spiritual” abuse regardless of whether the receptor also calls ones self “Christian” or otherwise.

Ultimately, “Spiritual” abuse flows in every direction so “human beings” must be vigilant.

US to lose King of the South Crown

now that the news is out the the united states of america has lost its seat on the united nations security council, one can only speculate if and when the old boys in the brooklyn writing deparetment will strip them of their king of the south title.. the us says it was because europe couldn't "get its act together.

" but the truth was they just didn't get enough votes.

not too many salutes from the middle east or the asian countries, especially after george w's spyplane fiasco over the chinese border.. i'd like to see china, the awakening giant, take on the role of the big bad bible bogeyman on the planet during these never ending wicked last days.

if you go through life continually allowing others actions to upset you and cause you stress, you are really missing out on the big picture.

That’s what the alcoholism councilor said, when I explained to her why I needed to save my older brother from destroying him self and his relations once we discovered and finally admitted to ourselves, his habitual dysfunction was the source of everyone’s negativity.

It’s good advice then, as it is today because there’s little to be gained by allowing a habitually dysfunctional person to destroy your ability to function likewise your ability to assist others.

Philo, there are two kinds of Jehovah’s Witnesses, those who buy at the literature counter and those who are WTBTS trained to “motivate” other Witnesses to buy copious amounts of literature at the Kingdom Hall counters.

It’s obvious you were successful as a “purchaser” of “their” publications. Why on earth would “they” turn you into a ministerial servant…it wouldn’t make business sense.

Enjoyed reading your subtly humorous but poignant poem. Obviously an “apostate” in the making and who knows, the WTBTS is pretty good at highlighting “shady” characters within their ranks, maybe they did have it in for you after all.

Short Term Thinking

what are some of the results of the short term thinking the wtbts has espoused over the last hundred years.

i know with myself i put off buying or even saving for a house, i put of medical treatment, didnt save for retirement.

i know of kingdom halls that were dangerously built/modified with short-term goals in mind.

What are some of the results of the short term thinking the WTBTS has espoused over the last hundred years.

Results? For starters, how about a substantial compounded, year over year, rate of return on their tax-free real estate and paper investments.

Don’t get me wrong; I don’t think that’s all a bad thing…the WTBTS laughing all the way to the bank.

Now that the WTBTS can confidently afford it, maybe the Brooklyn “bean counters” will spend more time tending to their financial bonanza, and less time thinking up ways to trash the lives of, and accumulating less Jehovah’s Witnesses in pursuit of financial Nirvana.
