i am having a really tough time with fear.
mine is one of the stories on bill bowen's silentlambs site.
i have survived more than 14 years of abuse, left the "borg", married a man that is amazingly supportive and not a jw, sought counseling and recovery, given birth to a newborn baby boy ...... every one of which has required courage and intestinal fortitude.
But I have managed to not be df'd and that is the step that scares me.
It scares you BG because you still may be harboring the impression that the WTB&TS carries some kind of cosmic authority based on peer pressure alone.
You will not be completely free of the fear of it until you realize that after re-examining the historical evidence independent of the WTB&TS that by taking advantage of a Government sanctioned tax-free status it’s simply in the business of religion and is willing to quietly hurt family, friends and individuals to protect it’s accumulation of Corporate wealth.
Due diligence shows the WTB&TS is not deserving of authoritative fear but fear of what it’s corporate policies may have on the innocent who threatens the Societies self proclaimed sanctity next.

premise: many who have read the bible over the centuries have accepted it as authoritatively from god, and have glossed over some glaring inconsistencies, contradictions, and shear nonsense.
some cultish groups have attempted to mimick the myths and twisted beliefs they have derived from the bible.
jehovah's witnesses are no exception to this.. this raises the questions: if the bible (as we know it) is from god, having his stamp of authorship and approval, then can we ever at some point raise serious questions about it?

That's the scary part Mad. This planet has a powerful economic infrastucture that is based on the premise that Christianity has some sort of cosmic credibility. When in fact the 'human protection' it proposes is based on nothing than sloppy biblical writings wide open to anyones interpretation.
Sometimes I wonder how humanity has even survived this long, however subjective that statement is.
