thanks to everyone here who welcomed me two weeks ago.
my intention when i first came to the site was to simply find information and see what others were saying about the jw organisation, then i felt inclined to post myself, including sharing my personal experiences.

just so i don't miss anybody who is interested.... my results from the ekg and the echogram showed a severe leak in a heart valve.
i am going for an angiogram on the 15th but the cardiologist says the liklihood is great that i will need open heart surgery.
rare for a 30 year old but if necessary, it is necessary.. no word yet on the results of the blood work for liver enzymes and hepatitis.
Yikes! I guess it's better to have open heart surgery at 30 than 80. Supposedly, you're metabolism is healthier at 30 and should recover faster.
Take care Cyg' and add my positive thoughts to the mix of well wishers...wow.

when i was in high school i always remember the "popular group.
" the ones that had the best looks, the nicest clothes and the life that everyone wanted.
oh how i longed for just one day to be a popular one, and to not be the person in the shadows.
....no one ever looks at the shadows. So there you can be and think in the way you really want.
Ken, gives a whole new perspective on the old saying, 'In the game of life, either...lead, follow or get out of the way!'
Perhaps the latter event of the trio can sometimes actually be the nobler one...until it's time to act.

i was coming home this evening from some ex-witness friends of mine (after part-y-ing), and i had the windows on my car down, playing one of elvis' tapes..........i was stopped at the stop light and i noticed several people sitting on the street giving me dirty looks and i couldn't figure out why at first.......then it dawned on me: they were waiting to see the canada day parade and i was playing "dixie" on my car cd.........(hehehehehehehehe........) i guess not a smart thing to do........ the parade sucked dead rocks and i was just wondering if it was only in my locale, or if other canadians also experienced a crap-o-rama parade.........seeing as this is the first july 4th party since 9-11, i assume that americans will be going all-out in their display of patriotism (i can't blame em) and i wanted to see what others had to say about their country's celebration.......hell up here, all the stores, malls, everything closes up like a ghost town - nothing's open on canada day............
I was playing "Dixie" on my car CD.........
You were playing "Dixie" on your car CD?!
Typical behavior of those associated with Jehovah's Witnesses is tending to ridicule the world that many strive to improve.
So as not to fall into that trap, perhaps one could volunteer for next years parade and try to make it better.
Otherwise it might be best one returns to selling for the Watchtower Corporation. By doing so, at least, one can stay out of the way of every one else actually trying to make a difference.

i think it's time bethel got a new sign out front, one that really speaks volumes and is far more suitable to their "read god's word the bible daily.
i was thinking: .
oh what a web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!
A NEW SIGN OUT FRONT AT BETHEL!
THINK ....not!
hot off the press!
it seems that the wt have been responsible for contributing towards a 'blood machine'.
if this story is true, its explosive!
If you can make it to New Jersey and you can afford it...Engelwood Hospital in New Jersey and their 'bloodless' (not someone else's) surgical techniques appears to be endorsed by adherents of the WTBTS, including George Benson the celebrated guitarist.
Check out the final Q&A at the bottom of the page specifically targeting Jehovah's Witnesses.

being spiritual, what is it?
that title looks like a watchtower article, doesn't it?
i raise this question after reading a recent thread, regarding what people believe now that they are no longer a witness.
My only concept of spirituality is making sure the big shots of the congregation see me sliding on up to the magazine counter and donating the prescribed amount of my cold hard cash for a crisp stack of fresh Watchtower and Awakes! and hittin' the street on weekends.
Whether its a street corner, the suburbs, or a Laundromat, it doesnt matter, as long as I'm floggin' those WTBTS publications and not spending an inordinate amount of time at the coffee shop, I'm a shoe in for making it as a contestant at Jehovah's finals.
Gosh ... what I wouldn't give to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses again.

now that you're out of the borg and don't have to get up saturdays to peddle magazines, try to fit in the family watchtower study, get up sunday mornings to rush off to the kingdom hall, do you feel like week-ends are great?
it feels great just to sleep late on one or two of those days if i want to.
i can spend hours on the internet or read a whole newspaper.
Nowfree, living on the West Coast of BC, we had to work in the ever present rain, otherwise the WTBTS Corporation would've gone broke.
However, on occassion I did find myself wishing it would rain REALLY hard. Now, that was sad.
