i'm not sure if this has ever been brought up before (probably has) but something just occurred to me...why were there always dubs guarding the donation boxes outside out of the conventions (in the hallways.)?
i mean i know the obvious reason behind it...very north korea-esque if you ask me, but we were told over and over just how special and christian and different we were from the world.... i'm looking for your theories on this.
they have people with binoculars in dark rooms that you can't see surveying the whole crowd and attendants implanted throughout the stadiums.

this is something that just popped in my mind suddenly.. but i was thinking about over the years the many comments of jws about loved ones.
for instance, one sister was speaking of her disgust with her children not accepting the "truth".
she gladly tells anyone of what she told them; that if they don't accept it before armageddon that it's too bad.
"I can't stand to see these parents spending time with their children that left Jehovah. They're going to be gone when Armageddon comes so why bother with them anyway?"
RF you are spot on, sadly. You'd think if they really loved their family members and thought they were going to die at Armageddon and they wouldn't see them again that they'd want to spend every moment they could with them to make use of the time they did have left with them! If a family member was dying of cancer you'd definately be spending as much time as you could with them. Having two sons of my own now I CANNOT understand how a parent could turn their backs on their own flesh and blood. It is sickening to the stomach and once again proves we are better off out of it and creating a new life for ourselves with unconditional friends who become our new family. ((((((R.F.))))) -sweet pea
Reading those experiences , I feel anger...if I heard a JW say anything of that nature, I would tell them to their face how heartless and cowardly they were. Sweet pea was dead on right when she said that they should be spending as much time with their ''dying'' family members instead of shunning them... Would they shun a terminally ill family member? I bet if you said this to a shun-happy JW, they might see how cold they really are. Some JW's need to get heart implants, you'd swear they didn't have one.

now after extensive tests, i am told i have mold spores in my lungs.

Bigdreaux, you might be surprised to know that Satanists are very home turf oriented..meaning, their home is their domain and their territory.
If anyone does anything to disrespect you on your home turf, you have the right to throw them out, or kill if attacked.

Trev commented, loudly enough for them to hear, and for a couple we know who were walking towards us to hear as well, that the jws had invented a new sport, "synchronised shunning", and wondering if it might become an Olympic event in years to come.

much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.
I stepped on a bee yesterday, walking through the grass with my bare feet,
and I thought I had stepped on a large spinter or large needle, or something, and there was a stinger and the poor bee's bum stuck in the sole of my foot....it hurt really bad....Ive been stung by wasps at least 8 times, and this sting was much worse.
A few hours later it was pretty swollen (localized) and itchy, today it is more swollen and extremely itchy....
I took children's benadryl, (that's all I had for an antihistamine) but it hasn't seemed to have had an effect...
I feel bad for the bee - going off to die because of stinging me.....
