I just dont get why people still insist on calling black Americans AFRICAN Americans. Most have no bond culturally, linguistically, nationally or religiously to Africans. I dont get why the term African American describes any black person even if they have spent generations in America.

this isn't a religious topic or even important, but i figured that there were so many other posts about miscillaneous subjects that i'd post my own.
i have a receding hairline, so i shave my head twice a week or so and i usually keep a goatee.
It depends on the head. Its sexy on some, downright scary on others and just ok on some. Some guys can actually pull of a receding and look sexy with it. It all depends on the guy finding the right look for him.

Anywhooo, I am American and have dark skin. I am not African American as I have never been to that continent. Neither has anyone in my family as far back as anyone can remember. I think that after 4 or 5 generations born in this country we have earned the right to be known as American...dark skinned Americans if one must qualify.
so there i was, entering the grocery store.
i walked in at the doors and they have the racks of free newspapers,.
.....there they were, awakes, half a dozen or so.
I used to find the magazines all the time in the laundry mat and on the subway train I take. I ALWAYS grab them up and chuck em. Thats one less story for the yearbook about how some poor lost soul saw an article in an Awake somewhere and sought more information.

if i see a spider i do one of three things..
if its small enough i smash it with my shoe or a magazine if there is one nearby
if its too big and therefore too messy to smash i quick grab a can of insecticide and spray it till i cant breath and it is soaked in fluid and struggling to walk
if there is a male nearby i freak out like a maniac and make him do it.

what a bloomin lovely, lovely, lovely day it was today, well, last 24 hours or so actually.
awoke this morning with little sign of hangover from saturday nights schenalligans on the town to a stunning warm day with not cloud in sky, about 71f (21c).
a mate rang me up asking if i could give some guy from zimbabwe a lift from local village, down to town, british legion club.
three days ago in tears and now your as grinnin till it hurts. hhmmm, you sure you arent bipolar? ;)

gwen and i met steven hassan yesterday, at a fund raiser for meadowhaven, (new england institute for religious research) a place where they help people reintregate back into the real world, after leaving some very destructive cults.
we are fortunate becasue meadowhaven is close enough for us to drive to, and one of the only places of its type here in the states.
he's a real nice guy, and i have an audio of his speach.
Very cool Zev. I was just debating recently if I should spend the $$$ to have a private session with Mr Hassan since his office is only about 20 mins from my house. It seems like a good idea to spend my tax refund on something that could actually benefit me in a major positive way.
I hadnt heard of Meadowhaven before, sounds like a great place.
sometimes i just wish i could come into several million dollars, i would do so much good with it.

I agree Princess, its all about me if I won a million lol. Believe me nothing would help us get over our JW issues faster than hittin the lottery. You wouldnt see me on here again thats for damn sure..I would be too busy basking in the Bali sun, furnishing my Villa in Tuscany, back packing across Europe..............ah to dream. :)
