Sort of. I met a friend of mine who had been dfed for 9 years to rekindle our friendship. He still believed in it and asked what made me change my mind. I mentioned the book as one of the factors and sent him the PDF. Now his mind is free from the clutches of Brooklyn.

JWs & Atheists - Great (Cultic) Minds Think Alike
by Perry injws & atheists - great (cultic) minds think alike.
in the jehovahs witness religion, there is a ceremony known in those circles as the memorial of christs death, or just the memorial for short.
it is claimed and believed among members that jehovahs witnesses observe the exact same ceremony that is more widely known as the lords supper among christians.

Perry, you sure got the Atheists all worked up. tsk tsk.
I love how those certain Christians can come here, be insulting, and then feel vindicated because the people they insulted are "worked up." As if Christians never get "worked up" about anything. I must have missed it when "worked up" and "wrong" became synonymous.
Christian: "Atheists are evil amoral fiends! They're stupid and ignorant and...."
Atheist: "Well actually I disagree with that statement because..."
Christian: "LOOK AT HOW WORKED UP YOU ARE!!!!! I MUST BE RIGHT BECAUSE YOU'RE SO ANGRY!!!!"

I use a program called "CDBurnerXP" An ISO is basically a bit-for-bit snapshot of the data on a cd or dvd disc. When I open CDBurnerXP, it gives me an option to "Burn ISO Image to Disc." I click that, put a blank CD in my drive, pick the ISO file I downloaded, and viola! One 2008 Watchtower Library CD.

I remember the scene in that commercial where the family is around the fire roasting marshmallow and I was thinking "man, remove the marshmallows from the scene and you have a Druid human sacrifice!" The red ones are just the right shade to make the person wearing it look like some sort of monk or druid.

The Witnesses latch onto any historical event--good or bad--to claim that the end is near. I remember back when George H.W. Bush uttered that all-too-familiar phrase "peace and security," my dad started freaking out. "That's it!" he said excitedly, "that's the call! It'll be any day now!" It's been 20 years now since the President uttered those words, and the end is nowhere nearer.

When I read this I was hopeful because I used to attend a Kingdom Hall where my bookstudy conductor was named Anthony Munoz. Then I saw the date of 2002, and realized it couldn't be the same person because I attended there from 2003-2004 and he was obviously still a witness.

Is this generation just setting themselves up for disappointment with Obama!
by free2beme ini have heard people call obama their "lord and savior" and act like having him in office is going to solve everything for the world.
i honest believe, a lot of people have extremely high hopes for this man.
some deserved, as he promised and others imposed as they are desperate.

I'm skeptical that you actually heard someone say that Obama is their "lord and savior." That said, I recall similar sentiments being expressed about Bush. I remember someone I worked with was saying that Bush was "called by God himself." I'm guessing that you lean to the right politically, so what do you have to say about the people who believed Bush was some sort of divine savior?
I voted for Obama, knowing full well that I won't like everything he does in office, but believing that his policies would have an overall positive effect. I love how the right wing fell all over themselves to worship Bush for 8 years, then got mad when people make Obama T-shirts. For 8 years Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity were railing against people who would DARE question the president's decision, but then when someone they don't like is president, well, now it's all about protest and dissent! Just goes to show ya, when the shoe's on the other foot, people start talking out the other side of their mouth.

How to PROFIT from Watchtower fearmongering
by Nathan Natas inmy association with the jws began in the late 1950's.
i participated in the pre-1975 hysteria just as i was instructed to do.
i knew people who sold their businesses and homes and calculated just how much they could spend each month to support themselves in the full-time ministry until their liberation date of october 1975.. (after all, you wouldn't want to run out of money in august 1975 - what would you do for two months?).
