  i was curious because i had heard simon was a jw when he started this forum.

  i was looking through the old posts, but couldn't really pinpoint one that was a "turning point" so-to-speak.

  simon must have left the j-dubs at some point.

  sometimes xtranormal decides to pronounce words differently at random times.

  it's a work still in progress.

  some of the speech is weird because the software didn't say it correctly (it's a text-to-speech program that makes videos based from a script).

  Gary Gygax

  i've seen gary's name on a few lists of celebrity jehovah's witnesses.

  after some looking i discovered that gygax was not in fact a jehovah's witness.

  there were a few interviews in which he self-identified as one, either to be ironically humorous (due to the intense anti-dnd stance of the watchtower) or because he felt a certain affinity to it, but it's not really accurate to consider him a jw i don't think..

  What It's All About

  according to jesus, the second greatest law, after loving god, is "love your neighbor as yourself.

  " it is the principle that binds the entire body of the law together, and every rule a christian should follow should have its motivation in these laws.

  "love they neighbor" answers the question of why christians behave in a certain way.

  Brother, Sister

  the witnesses refer to each other as "brother" or "sister.

  " this is supposedly because they are a "spiritual family" and this is supposed to encourage that feeling.. but how often did you refer to your biological brothers and sisters by their title?

  when i was playing in the yard with my little brother i wasn't yelling "catch the ball, brother _______!

  The Year of Living Biblically by A.J. Jacobs

  just finished this book and it's a fascinating read about an agnostic author who decides to follow the bible as literally as possible for a year.

  he grows a beard, wears white everywhere he goes, carries a staff and consults with leaders from almost every facet of judaism and christianity.

  i highly recommend this book to everyone, religious or not.

  I'm getting married!

  about 6 months ago i started dating a non-witness.

  our relationship has grown quite quickly and a few weeks ago i proposed to her.

  we are now in the midst of wedding and house-buying plans.
