I want them to publish the unvarnished history of jws. I want them to lose their religious tax exemption and start building homes for older jws who now have no money b/c they expected to be in the new system by now.
I would like this to be done as well....and extend these homes or have a facility for those who have retired from the the circuit and district work.
when we were jw's we were constantly reminded to put on a "new personality".
now, before i was a jw i was friendly and easy to get along with.
it only took a few years of exposure to the cult before i noticed personality changes.
When you are raised as a JW, your JW parent(s) are supposed to instill this in you as a child. So what is to put on? That is a question I have asked myself many times being a JW. Now that I am contemplating leaving by doing a slow fade, I find myself shedding a lot of attitudes. However, I have always considered non-JWs as decent people--never as the enemy. I don't have any close friends in the org. I have two close friends outside the org. and am getting close to making another close friend. Two of them are no longer JWs and one is married to a guy who was raised by JWs but never did anything about it.
Lady Lee's comments are excellent because that is just what the org. wants you to feel and believe. Myself, I think humans are complicated beings and we need to get ahold of ourselves to keep from being tossed around "hither and thither" by many ideas and philosophies and choose one or two and live our lives by them. I hope that made sense!
women still can't handle mic's, count money, count attendance, or give public talks.

I agree with Gumby. The Bible, when you look at it critically, is a male-dominated book. Nothing in there written TO women.
jw's are told that they have a faith unlike any other.

Shallow and superficial. They miss the importance of just what Jesus did for mankind, not even thinking about the pain he went thru--sure they talk about it, write about--but do they ever think about it? I know because I was like that too--until several years ago. Not that I had one of those experiences that "born-again" Christians say they have, but something changed... All JWs think about is that the end is coming soon, it can't be that much longer, this system stinks, etc., etc., etc.
it's funny, my brother-in-law, a very myopic and strict jw, said something to me once that i still feel has a kernel of truth to it even though it came from a braindead idiot.

Thank God for the Society's (HIS) publications! You see, if THEY point out to you that cheating is wrong, NOW, you can know it. Very soon, we can expect some articles on the reasons why true Christians should refrain from not wearing glasses when they should, finishing all your food on your plate and changing your underwear at least once a day......Thank God for the Society!
I remember my daughter telling me that one of the guys in the group she hung out with for a while, was always bringing up subjects you might find in an "Awake" article and asking if was for Christians;;such as "Butter---Is It For Christians?" He used to crack her up with some of the stuff he came up with.
well ive been studying with the jehovah witness for about 3 yrs now and im really thinking about making myself a publisher and i want to know is this website real and why are people talking about hiding their names what are they hiding it for shouldnt you be happy that youre studying with the jw and the jehovah called on you.
and what's up with all the swearing havent you thought about keeping up good lanquage in case someone visits this site and see that and whats up with the half naked pictures of women whats really going on
Actually this one does apply. JWs are encouraged to go into court and swear on a NWT to tell the truth but they are also taught that Theocratic Warfare will allow them to lie to those who they deem not worth knowing the truth.Most people would consider lying in a court of law after giving an oath to tell the truth as unethical
I've never had to go to court for anything, but you are saying a witness who has to go to court won't swear to tell the truth on anything but a NWT?
i discovered this site today, and had some fun with it typing in the real names, then the aliases of posters here.

wednesday is the big day.i am going in for rotator cuff surgery and i am very nervous.i have lived in pain now for 6months not wanting to do this but the time has come.i am also going to have bone spurs dug out that have grown into the cuff.
the scarriest part is the pain ,i am in so much now and i know it will be worse.wish me luck and lots of pain killers.
