Are you still going in service? If so, how do you present your message? I'm sure you disagree with a lot of WT teachings, so how are you handling this?

I bit the bullet 3 times and had 1 hit. Some of my answers showed an inconsistent/contradictory belief, but I already know I am that way anyway and not too logical either--so I guess I did pretty good considering.

Stronger or weaker
by Paradise Found inhas yourjehovahs witness experience made ypur belief in god stronger or weaker?.
my attitude to god and religon no longer plays an active part in my life.
what i mean by not playing an active part is that i never prayer for help when in trouble or understanding as to lifes purpose and a personal relationhip with god.. maybe because iam scared to take the risk my prayers might not be answered and i d be disillusioned.although if things go right i dont mind saying "thankyou" i will never say "please".

As a current "Dub" for the past year or so I have been re-thinking how I believe in God. I believe there is a Creator--that is for sure, but what I have problems with is reading about a God in the OT (Hebrew scriptures) who always seems to get "hot with anger" when things aren't done the way he wants and then somehow he changes (?) to a God of love in the NT (Greek scriptures). What is missing here?

Have you been able to make up for the lost years?
by woodland ini feel that my education was stunted due to the jw belief that education is not important.
as a result i have not been able to follow my dreams, or follow the career i?m sure i was put on this earth to do.

I am in my mid-50's and I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up!
I was raised a J-Dub, and still am, but have set my mind mentally free from the Borg. I took an excellent secretarial course in high school and worked office jobs for a long time. I realized I hated being in an office--and people with certain types of degrees work in offices--so if one doesn't like to be confined, don't get a job or seek a degree that will put you behind a desk in a chair. Right now I don't have to work, but after getting a Swedish massage a couple of weeks ago, I may go to train for that. It's only a 6-month course, plus education on natural medicines, a little accupressure, etc. I love meeting people--and I don't mind working in an enclosed space as long as I'm not sitting all the time.
My daughter, who will be 25, got a scholarship while in high school for college in 1996. She went and enjoyed her college years. Right now she is considering going back for her Master's degree. My son is now attending college on a scholarship and is studying architecture and is working for an architectural firm, p/t. I was happy for them both.
One thing I realized that the organization doesn't help parents to see, is that it is better for your kids to be in college with kids their own age, than out in the workforce from high school--working with adults who could corrupt young minds before they are prepared for it. That is.....if your kids do not want to pioneer which I'm glad my mom let me have that choice. I did pioneer for a year but went back to working. Not that everybody is bad in the workforce, but I think the association there makes them grow up faster sometimes than what would happen naturally. I know it happened with me at my first job, when I started working right out of high school. People looked out for themselves and didn't care about young, naieve people just starting out.

Secret To Life
by Paradise Found into me it seems the highest form of life is to find something you love and give your life to it.. with me its beer, music and painting.. but the things i love have given me everything.
freedom, peace, success in my profession as an artist.
finally and most importantly 12 years of marriage.. what are the things you love ?

I love being at the beach on a warm, breezy day listening to the waves while worshipping the sun. This past Thursday was a day like this and I was there with my significant other. It was wonderful!!!

Being honest with myself and my past
by Dawn ini was talking with my husband a few nights ago about a situation with my jw family that really upset me.
it is truly a ridiculas situation which my husband (never a jw) agreed, and as i ranted on about their indoctrination and their beliefs he looked at me and said "you're right, but how can you act so shocked, you used to be just like them.".
damn!

Gumby:
So many of us here who blame parents, or other family, for being so cruel to us and shunning us.........forget that WE TOO, practiced this behavior. We think now that WE see the truth......so should they. It isn't reality. They act upon emotions produced from an organisation, and not their own hearts many times.
What I put in red I believe is EXACTLY what we all realize at whatever point we are at within or without the Borg when we take the blinders off.

Good question! I'd add a comment on this:
We are not affiliated with any other religious group including not with the Watchtower over Jehovah's Witnesses, as we look directly to Jehovah Himself and use the Bible alone as our study material for Bible Study meetings.
That's appalling English grammar! What does it mean? Ya know, I find it difficult to put confidence in someone who can't get their syntax right!-------------
LOL Ozzie!
