The speaker sounds like he needs a basic education.
She is married to an ex-jock JW. She was a kinesiologist, the physical therapy side of medicine's equivalent to an oral hygeinist. She doesn't say what her current employment is, but if she is baby sitting with sister Russo or cleaning house for those same teachers sister Russo sits for, maybe that is why it is taking so long to pay back those damn loans ...
Of course if you pursue a Bachelors of Science for Kinesiology you will have to parlay that into a specialty field to make money. Duh! But there are plenty of other high-demand four-year-degree fields that she could have pursued instead
Agreed!
So, sister Russo was in the right place at the right time and happened to need an ego stroking (that last isn't unusual for JWs). Because of that, she didn't need no College edumacashun ... her husband is the primary breadwinner (and no one said whether he has a degree). She can work without any promise of retirement and without benefits and teach her son (who is going to Bethel) to do the very same.
And I guess sister Russo never thinks it's wise to prepare for "unforseen" circumstances, such as her breadwinner hubby could lose his job, or worse...then what would she do?

Munka,
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I see some contradictions in things that you say. You appear to be very curious about JWs and their society, at times defending them, but now you say you've burnt your magazines. Why? If you kept them, maybe some of the answers you seek about their beliefs would be found in the magazines and or books, if you still have those too.
I don't get it... <shrugging>

Voluntarily Confessing & Then Getting Reproved or Disfellowshipped
by minimus indo you realize how many contrite witnesses went to the elders to make things right with god and wound up getting disfellowshipped or privately or publicly reproved?
a lot.. did you or anyone that you knew ever get "disciplined" unfairly?
many times, no one would ever know about anything unless it was voluntarily brought up.

Soon after I'm deleted, actually I stepped down and gave the prayer the night it was announced. The C.O. told the body to have me close with prayer to ease the minds of the brothers and sisters. This has never been done before as far as I can ascertain.
Blueblades, this was done with my husband when he was deleted. The reason for the prayer was so the congregation would know the brother was still "in good standing".

I can't do anything about...
by Blueblades ini have come to this point in my life, there are things that i can't do anything about.. for example: i can't do anything about whether or not there is an afterlife.
i can't to do anything about all the books i read on the subjects: the denial of death, life after life, man's search for meaning, the problem of pain, the history of god, the question of god, atheism, the case against god, the case for christ, the case against christianity, searching for eternity, the myth of certainty, the blind watchmaker, the theory of everything, the holographic universe.. and many many more books that i have read on the pros and cons of many subjects, the list is too big to list here.
some of the ones i did list focus on life and death issues.

Do you want to share some of the things that you now realize you can't do anything about, besides life and death?
People who wear their emotions on "their sleeves", what the news agencies decide to report on under the guise of "the people have the right to know", the way my hair has been for the past 3 yrs. I can make temporary changes but as it grows out, it will be the same as it is now.....

Did You Take Your "Ministry" Seriously?
by minimus insince all jehovah's witnesses are "ministers" and are to act like "watchmen" so as to not be bloodguilty before jehovah god, would you say that you, personally were a fine zealous preacher?
did you make sure that you accurately kept your house-to-house records up to date?
did you make sure you were back in a timely fashion once you placed literature?

I had mixed feelings about it. I hated it when I was working with someone and felt I had to successfully overcome an objection. To me if a person says they're not interested, they mean what they say!
I loved it when I met someone who was interested in having a
BibleWTBTS study because I felt I was making a futurediscipleWTBTS publisher. -

welcome resthe!
You are probably going to get a lot of different, and maybe angry answers to your questions as there are former and current JWs posting here, so be prepared!
I also read have questions in my head about some topics that I can't get the answers to..I know it's a sin and sad to know that I can be lured again to some different lifestyle but this man is honest, caring, respected, and much wiser than I am
Could you explain this statement a little better? What are the topics you need answers to and why do you think it's a sin to find the answers? And please if you already know deep down inside what the answer is to continue with this man or not, listen to YOU. I am not a man-hater by any means, but what is it about him that you think he is wiser than you? This is a question worth serious consideration.

munkafats,
It says in your profile that you have read JW literature. In every publication they print, it says on the first or second page who publishes it. Do you ever look at these pages in any publication you read? Not just WTBTS literature? I'm kind of surprised you would ask that question.

I'm starting to really get into the New Testament. This is great!
by MichaelM instuff i never really touched much when i was a studying with the witnesses.
i'm in awe.. amazed.. at the things jesus is saying/doing.. some of it is even putting me in tears.
one chapter that i really love so far is i'm in luke and i'm reading about the woman who came into the pharisee's home and started kissing jesus' feet and jesus told the story of the two people that owed money.

Of the New Testament books, I love the gospels because they include much of what Jesus taught, and will take his words over anybody else's (including the apostle Paul). I also like John's epistles, Peter, James and Jude.

What's the main purpose to the out of town Assemblies?
by JH inwith all the meetings jw's attend each week, why do they need a district assembly or circuit assembly?.
is it to show how big the organization is or is it just to baptize a few.. couldn't this be done staying in their home town.
is there a financial advantage to the watchtower to have these assemblies out of town ?.

Remember reading of the famous ones at Cedar Point, or the massive one at Yankee Stadium and the Polo Grounds?
I was at the one in 1958 in Yankee Stadium, Polo Grounds and lots of overflow tents. A lot of colorful costumes people wore from different countries.
