My meeting with the elders.. I TOTALLY WIMPED OUT
by AWAKE&WATCHING ini agreed to speak to 2 elders from the congregation that i was in from when i started my bible study in 1979 to when i disassociated myself in 1990. i was in the same congregation when i got re-instated in 2001 until i got married and moved to another congregation (30 miles away) a year later.
when i left my husband in aug. of this year i had already quit going to meetings for about 4 months.
i moved back to the same town i lived in before, of course never going to the hall.. i talked to them because i wanted closure for myself and my best friend and also my husband, both of them thought if i would just have the meeting with the elders that i would be re-adjusted.

Wow - I've come a long way in the last 3 years. I've met many of you face to face since I wrote this and count you among my closest friends. Just last week I met The Silence, SnakesInTheTower and Crazyblondeb when I went to Missouri for my niece's wedding. The love and support I've received from Ex-JW's is so much more real, more sincere and loving than anything I ever experienced from members of the cult.
For those of you who are only just discovering what the future holds, hang on tight. It may be a bumpy ride, but I'm here to tell you that there are true friends to be found here.

by Farkel init only takes one short sentence from the bible to thoroughly demolish the watchtower religion and the doctrine they claim is their most important one.
this sentence is so crystal clear that there is no way the wts can weasal out of it.
that's why they don't even try.. although their real most important doctrine is that the governing body speaks for god, their claimed most important doctrine begins with the notion that jesus took kingdom power and began reigning in 1914. if that doctrine can be shown to be false, the entire watchtower theology scam crumbles into the trash heap where it belongs.

I disassociated myself after being in for about eleven years. Still believed it and went back about 11 years later and got reinstated. So I wasted another 6 years. I wish I had done research on the evil internet when I first left. It would have at least saved all of the heartache and anguish for 16 years and I would have been a better mom to my kids.

Do you consider yourself to be quiet or outgoing?

i'm a quiet person in real life, takes me a while to warm up to folks that i just meet, but if i really like a person my rarely used gift of gab comes out.. how about ya'll?.

Email I sent to mom after huge fight today
by meangirl inwell my mom and i got into a pretty bad argument today over the phone.
it basically came down to the fact that she couldn't handle what i was saying about the organization, etc and all she could come back to me was that i "hated her?

I think you did a wonderful job and hope your mom can see how much of your heart was poured into it. Never give up hope that you may reach your mom someday. My kids were shocked when I told them I finally realized I was in a cult.
