What type of person are you attracted to now?
by Layla33 ini was just thinking about this the other day, about how my ideas of a romantic partner have changed since being a jw.. growing up, i thought i would marry a very upstanding jw, we would pioneer together, do missionary work, have children, see the world.
(never had any thoughts about bethel, though.
) so what it boiled down to was a stepford husband, up tight, not the least bit sexual, closed minded bore.. so now that i have grown up, seen the world, been married (and actually picked a good man the first time, although it didn't work out), i just contrast that with what i am attracted to now.. i like them open minded, earthy, i love artistic types because i am a published writer, hair doesn't matter to me (long/short, bald, etc), challenges convention, very sexual, still like a traveling man.. i am just curious if you anyone else can compare and contrast how their ideas have changed since breaking out the group-think of the jw organization..

Narcissism
by R.Crusoe ini recently looked at some information on this psychologists speak and it validated much of my perception about how there is a term for everything like in the bible with which to stereotype individuals!.
for example when at the kh often i would hear it said about the spirit of esau or how some were being drawn by satan purely as aresult of behaviours they exhibited which were not 'standardised' to those sanctioned by the wt!.
so to me psychology is outdated in many ways and i'm pleased when i see self assessment sites or similar which engage the individual rather than stereoype them and cause labelling where everyone shunns them by looking through the eyes of 'labelling'.. i found it interesting knowing i am exhibiting behaviours synonymous with terminilogy whose explanations are opposite to my heart condition!

i also am the one even people i hardly know come to for advice because i can usually figure out exactly what to do in any difficult situation.. .

One of the new guys
by Alex Delta intoday is the first day i was able to come out and say something that was on my mind by just replying to some subjects on this forum.
i see that its really a therapeutic way to get some of these things off my chest.
i was dfd almost 10 years ago and i just now am starting to come out and play.

Well it happened I got into an accident at work this morning.
by noni1974 init snow last night from about midnight on.i was at work driving my cab.i usually don't drive in snowy weather but i didn't know it was going to snow last night.i was driving about 40 miles an hour on a plowed but not salted innerstate driving a customer to the airport.i hit an icy patch on the road and spun clear accrost the innerstate doing a complete loop.i hit the wall on the back passenger side.i messed up the bumper and tail light.the passenger was fine and not hurt at all.i hurt my back on impact.i strained some back muscles.. the passenger took it very well concerding he had a flight to leave the country he had to get on.problem was the trunk/boot of the car was smashed in on one side and i couldn't open the trunk to get his luggage out.the dispatcher called the towing company to come out to pry open the trunk/boot but they said they would be an hour.he couldn't wait that long so i took him to the cab company garage.i had a pry bar in my car.i was unable to pry the trunk/boot open myself.another driver was called to come get the guy and he was able to get the trunk/boot open.so he finally got his luggage out so he could go to the airport.. i had to fill out paper work for 2 hours.. lucky for me no other cars were involved and my passenger wasn't hurt.my lease is being held till i go downtown and speak to the big boss.so i can't work for the rest of the weekend.. my landlady is not going to be happy at all.i'm trying to catch back up from being behind on my rent.i went and got another job to help the situation but things keep getting in the way..

Is the Watchtower Society getting it's message across to the membership?
by isnrblog ini don't think everyone in the organization is clear on the new understanding of the 1914 generation.
i asked four witnesses about this and how they now understood the 1914 generation and none of them were aware of the new understanding!
as a disfellowshipped apostate, many witnesses still talk to me on me regular basis and a lot are "loosing their religion".

That is exactly a year after what I read made me immediately log onto the evil internet and I don't think I had any conscious doubts at that time.
I think it is too much over the top. If any intelligent JWs were thinking in the back of their minds that something doesn't seem right...this just might be enough to tip the scale.
I agree, I didn't expect it to be this strong this fast.
They are running scared in my opinion.
There are also those weak minded ones that it will suck right in.
I hate those evil bastards.
