just to let everyone on here who knows my dad, that he is seriously ill, and unfortunately on life support.

he has renal and respiratory failure as a result of the quickest onset of pneumonia i have ever seen... it came on in the early hours of this morning.

he is waiting for an intensive care bed but the nearest one is 200 miles away.

but to be fair, jw's teach that most all of these characters refer to the leadership of jehovah's witnesses, the governing body.

two weeks ago i sent the first one to a friend of 45 years who made a galloping escape down a grocery aisle and out the xpress lane to avoid my frightening middle aged wife, my 4 year old grandson and myself.

of course, i do sport a patch of facial hair now, and he likely imagined that he heard me asking the clerk for a gallon of fresh blood and three straws.

anyway, he moves quite well for a man of 71, so i gave him a nicely embossed certificate, suitable for framing.

Gopher says that he is becoming an ex-ex-JW and that he is better than ever and life is full. I'm so glad to hear that, he really helped me out a lot when I was still in shock from finding out I was in a cult.

Our dear friend Gopher is alive and well. He returned a pm I sent when I saw this thread yesterday. He is doing well and keeping busy with work and a new love. He sounds very happy and is enjoying the holidays.

He sends his love and will pop in once in a while so no need to worry.
