  i need scans of the "born again - what does it mean" series of articles in the april 1, 2009 watchtower magazine, pages 3 through 12.. i found audio files at jw.org, but need to be able to print it out.

  i unsuccessfully downloaded something from that site - windows wouldn't open it after it was done.

  Homicidal Domestic Violence

  near the end of my marriage to a jw husband, choking me was his favorite form of recreation and my worst form of terror.

  although i left 20 years ago, this article really shook me.

  ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) Wow Jamie, I'm glad that you got out. My dad was very abusive towards both my mom and myself. He even stabbed my mom with a butcher knife when she was pregnant. We were not witnesses.

  My ex husband drug me out of the house after slapping me around, then just stopped and went back inside. I didn't know until years later that an elder and his wife saw what happened when pulling in our driveway to bring my daughter home. They never said a word to me but I found out a couple of years later that most of the congregation knew. Thanks friends!

  I really can't imagine what that must have been like, to know they knew how bad it was and made you out to be the bad guy.

  This thread cracked me up! For those of you on my Xmas card list you have seen our dog Jinx. We named him that because I jinxed Lenny one time and he didn't have any idea what I was talking about. I couldn't believe that he had never heard of the childhood game and he claimed that I made it up. LOL

  We continue the jinx game and even call "thought jinx"! Pure silliness. I was glad to see yet another way to prove that everyone knew about this but him. lol

  dear friends,.

  much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.

  however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

  I am about to get in the car and head back home to Virginia and the man I love. I have been visiting my family in Ohio for a few days. I miss them when I'm in Virginia and I miss him when I'm in Ohio. I am so lucky to have found a mate for my soul at my age. He is an amazing man and treats me like a queen. A few weeks ago on Valentine's Day I went to my niece's wedding and lamented to my daughter that I was sad to be away from him on that day. I had to laugh when she said, "Everyday is Valentine's Day for you two." It's true that it really is a special relationship. We are so connected on so many levels. I can't believe what a treasure he is. I am a very lucky woman and can't wait to get home.

  Now I'll climb in the car and start missing those grandkids as I head east.

  Life is beautiful.
