True. Hence the many posters here who left the WT when discovering the hypocrisy of the UN/NGO issue, or the addition of Jehovah's name to the NT (among other issues).
We trully knew and supported the Bible's stand on hypocrisy and could not, in good conscience, stand by and tacilty endorse it.
Many of us no longer believe in religion or God, at all ,for the same reason. We see the lack of logic and the hypocrisy. Once you do, if you are true and faithful, you have to leave.

we went to oz for a wedding of a brother and sister from the sydney bethel.
it was the most bizzare wedding of all time, the cake was a multi coloured telitubby creation and the veggie food option was baby octopus and squid, the alcohol was free flowing and all bethelites in attendance took full advantage.
we were sat listening to the speaches and it was getting rowdier and rowdier and some of the language was rather unscriptual to say the least, as it was mixed jw and non jw we were surprised to find that all of this noise came from the bethelites.
I came from a town that knew how to throw a party. No complaints there.
My worst wedding experience was in the late 80's. The talk was given by a circuit oversser (Shropshire). He was known for his sense of humor. I'm all for funny but everthing has it's place and he turned the wedding talk into a stand up routine. People were roarring with laughter. Very undignified, in my opinion. :)
i hadn't attended meetings for over a year now and i had a good jw friend from another hall.
she was friends with me before me being a witness.
we knew each other from school and she had a hand in converting me.

if your partner (husband/wife, gf/bf etc) was phoning and texting someone approx 20 times per day,would you find it unacceptable?
for example, if your wife was texting/phoning another brother (also married) 20 to 30 times a day, would you get suspicious?
I think your BIL is having an "emotional affair". He may not have even come to terms with it himself, yet.
I bet her elders would find this behaviour unsettling. BIL would be in deep doo-doo if they found out.
