  No lit for ex-jws, big A coming in June, apostate warning--what's going on?

  there are 3 current threads that say these very things.

  (ok, the one about armageddon says it will come within days or weeks--not months--so that means june 2007.

  seems to me this is whipping up into a paranoia bigger than the 1980s apostate scare, bigger than they've ever seen before.

  why is it they co's always drive buicks with nice leather seats?

  they just stopped by my place, and i am hiding... i havent been to meetings in years... co must be in town, and the in-laws musta tipped em off where i am living.

  Does God REALLY exist? (An Attempt at an Online Bible Study)

  with the global village now teaching evolution as an absolute fact, and the 'creation museum' making a mockery of the bible, any bible study should begin with this question!

  however, the biggest hinderence to learning truth is clinging to concepts we've accepted as 'truth' without being willing to take a closer look at other possibilities.. i ask that ridiculers have fun on other postings, so that it might be possible to enjoy comparing what we have learned, how we see things- and also share what we have found to be facts-truth!.

  (and i will not "count the time", as promised; that's unimportant to me, anyhow!).

  Think about this.

  Go way back...far far back in history.

  Go back before the Internet. Go back farther.

  Go back before newspapers, TV and radio.

  Go waaaaay back before there was public education.

  Return to a time when there were no Universities or libraries.

  Go even farther back in time and return to when it was thousands of years before any Modern era.

  People got their ideas from their families and neighbors PERIOD!

  Everything was rumor. Everything was imagination, guesswork and superstitious reasoning.

  How far back are you now? You are back to a point when you cannot PROVE anything. The person with the outrageous story, fable, idea or concept is the communicator of the MYSTICAL SENSE of how the world works.

  Your local shaman, priest, rabbi, prophet, sage or witch doctor is your ONE SOURCE of "information" about the UNseen world.

  There, my friends, THERE IS WHERE YOU'LL FIND GOD!

  As mankind began finding a way to PROVE assertions God began to grow smaller and smaller.

  As mankind invented logic, reasoning and science God shrank and grew fainter.

  By the time Aristotle tutored Alexander the Great and Greece conquered the known world it was only THE GREEK PASSION FOR KNOWLEDGE that stood against the backward religious myths of indigenous peoples.

  Suddenly, the God bubble popped very loudly! POP!

  By the end of the Book of Malachi there is a deafening silence from "God".

  By the time stories of Jesus circulated we have a wandering Rabbi filling the shoes of a latter day SOCRATES.

  Jesus is a thinly disguised Socrates in his manner of teaching.

  Pagan ideas, Platonic patterns and Gnostic speculations flavored the soup of Messianic passions.

  But, GOD HAD VANISHED.

  POP!

  God has gone where the unicorns have gone and the fairies and minotaurs and demigods of old.

  GOD was the best idea men could come up with before they really KNEW anything real.

  God is invisible today and silent. Only hand puppets speak for him.

  Believe at your own risk. The hand inside the puppet is reaching for your mind and your servitude.

  due to the fact there are about 27,000 members of this religion that are known pedophiles, and the information about it is kept in a secret database file, i wonder how many lurking jw's as well as others are aware of the severity of this problem?

  remember, it's 27,000 pedophiles that they know about.

  what about the thousands that don't get caught?

  Wow. This place really makes me open up. I was one of the molesters. I have never said or typed that before. I guess i should say thank you. It feels good in someway. In my own defense, it was not an adult with a kid and no actual penetration occured. Still, I was a big 12 year old, she was nine. Lot's of touching and sucking involved. This happened with two others, just not more than once as with her. Don't know why I am typing this. If some lurker's have these feeling's or are doing these things or suspect's someone of doing it, it's not worth it in anyway. The guilt I have for what became of that girl has haunted me my entire life. I don't have children out of fear of even having the thought. I have no idea how her life was effected, can't imagine it being good, she was subjected to large quanities of guilt afterward's. While i remember some of their names, i have no idea what their last names are. I wish i could send them and i'm sorry letter. I rode by the grandparent's house some years ago to say i was sorry, it was obvious they had moved. What's sad is all i can focus on while typing this is my constant use of "I", this post is about me. That child's life is not about "I", it's about him/her. Leave it that way. That religion is not healthy in any way.

  why am i telling you this true story?

  because of a wonderful person that i met that has had a positive effect on my life.

  over a year ago, my awesome wife passed way, she had melanoma.

  it's official; they read the letter tonight that puts forth the new procedure.

  if you find an expelled person in the field or are studying with one, you are no longer permitted to give them lit.

  presumably the elders make a decision if an expelled one is regularly attending meetings, but only they can give them lit.

  Out of the Family...

  literally and figuratively.... if you don't know my story, its the basic "i'm gay and from a family of jws" and lately it hasn't been going well.

  i'm still saving up to move out, but that "meeting" i was suppose to have with the elders is scheduled tonight.

  it was scheduled tuesday night but i dodged that bitch hard.

  Seek out some more support. There has to be some kind of help for gay's, they may not be jw's but they would know exactly how you feel. The more people you talk to about this, the better off you will be. Both now and for the future. You have to live with you forever. Love yourself.

  I think you would be much better off getting out of there. If that is truly not an option, what junction said may help. Her almost equal hatred of apostate's could act as an neutralizer. As well as providing her something else to focus on, hope if you will.

  What kind of changes would you make if you were the President of the WTS.

  the organization to make it more approachable, livable and attainable for the general population ?.

  My old hall had one of those floors that slanted down to the stage. Get rid of everything but keep those halls. First we line the walls and then fill the place with water. Now you can walk thru the lobby, change clothes in the back rooms and go for a swim to the stage. Once you get the stage, (how to put this without it getting removed) let all your fantasies come true! We could have beer night, poker night, Caligula nightyou name it.
