Nauseating.

Going through quite a difficult time as I have given up friends in the world, my relationship and also my job, as none of them would be pleasing to God.

But, let's try to reframe this into something positive:

- a couple of people now know the truth about this guy's "friendship"
- a woman has been freed from a self-centered jerk who obviously didn't care much for her
- someone's going to get that job to feed his or her family.
- a good witness about the fine effects of JW memberships has been given. People will think he's joined a weird cult, and rightfully so.

So much good, Jehovah must be behind this!

What you've left behind you is a "lot of refuse" you wouldn't keep your unemptied dustbin in your bedroom for months would you? So get rid of all the refuse - it soon begins to stink and cause nasty infections if you don't.

I don't understand why they have to hide all these good, clean, moral and spiritually upbuilding discussions from the world with a login. I mean, what do they have to hide if they're so much better than those stinking infectious apostates?

MAJOR UN/WTS/NGO NEWS - WTS IS GONE

as of 11:45 this morning (i had a telphone call this morning with the refernce department person named holly at 212-963-7234), i can tell you that the watchtower has disassociated itself from the united nations dpi!!!!!!.

the dpi is now taking them off the list.

the dpi requested the list removal to be done this morning!!!!!.

Such a pity - more delay would have meant more publicity.

But then, from the WTS's viewpoint, the best reaction possible. If it was really initiated on their part, that is - it may very well be that the UN "recommended" that the WTS disassociate "voluntarily" to save face. Well, so much for speculation.

Right now, they're still on the list, though. Hurry with those HTML saves and screenshots :-)

I hope the DPI will at least release a statement.

I also got the occasional piece of spam from these guys. They like to harvest addresses from all kinds of JW-related pages.

As for the Swedish page you found, the main URL is http://www.geocities.com/Pipeline/Cliff/4313/ (the "home" link doesn't work), and it's a Swedish ex-JW support group. They used to have one of those short URLs (something like come.to/stodgruppen), but it doesn't seem to work anymore.

i want to barf.

i was wondering when the hell samuel herd was going to shut up.. blab blab blab.... aren't we wonderful, oh we are so wonderful.. about the only thing that was said that i could see as being something which the gb would see as touchy enough to warant the multiple announcements for " no tape recorders, no video recorders and no computer note taking" would be the statement by herd that there's "going to be a lot off killing, billions will die ....in swift fashion".

and the other gb (fill in the name) who talked about being in the new world "in two hundred years".... wow.. that's leaving enough prophetic lee-way for the gb heirs to the thrones.. much emphasis was placed on the "...two roads to the new system ...the high road and the low road".

Newsflash....USA invades Iceland

america has taken its war against terror beyond afghanistans borders and has struck another country.. .

as american bombs and missiles struck taleban targets in four afghan cities for the second consecutive night, the bush administration served formal notice at the united nations that this could be just the beginning of a worldwide campaign and that campaign has been extended to iceland.

john negroponte, the us ambassador to the un, said that the us investigation prompted military action against iceland as he had conclusive evidence that it sheltered al-qaeda and its taleban protectors...at some point, although he excepted that their might have been a spelling mistake.

In that case, they wouldn't have to invade - a few 'tactical' nukes on Britain's power plants would be enough to stop those fridges.

yeah like, my boss's friends uncle called me the other day and said that at least 50 crazed rabid arabs ran into the local taco bell and like threw a giant beaker marked with a skull and cross bones on the floor and then they ran away laughing, outside a helicopter dropped a rope ladder and the arabs climbed on and flew off, all the while laughing manicaly and chanting 'death to the infidels!

' .

although you may read only local newspapers reporting this incident, and although the local papers say only that 2 hispanic males ordered a mountain dew and it spilled and then they left the taco bell cursing the management, my version is the honest truth and not sensationalism at all!.

Oh! Well:

Judas Priest and Anthrax are in the process of finalizing the scheduled dates for their tour together. It appears that the tour will hit the same cities as originally planned, although a few venues may change. The dates are starting in Los Angeles tentatively on January 18, 2002. Confirmed dates should be announced next week.

Proper attire for visits at your favourite junk food vendor:

Two thoughts:

1) You wouldn't want to get nauseous when you're wearing a gas mask. So you better skip Taco Bell completely.
2) If I was an evil terrorist, I mean, REALLY evil, I wouldn't smear the stuff on computer keyboards or sprinkle it on your burgers. I'd put the stuff in gask mask filters and sell those.

Mac, I actually consider it a small miracle that just _one_ newspaper has a story on this, and a fairly accurate one (we all know that JW terminology is intricate and not well understood by outsiders). The entire thing may be a great story for ex-JWs, but I presume that even persons with a good measure of interest in religious matters will read this, shrug their shoulders, take a sip from their cuppa tea and turn to the sports pages, forgetting everything in the process.

The real value of this is its effect on active JWs. If other papers should publish similar stories (which seems unlikely to me), those articles will probably contain a lot more inaccuracies. There aren't so many newspapers out there with ex-JWs (or people with good connections to ex-JWs) on their staff. As "comment" pointed out in another thread, even seemingly small inaccuracies will damage the credibility of the entire issue in the minds of the Dubs.
Well, just my thoughts. We'll see what happens.
