Very well researched and written!...unfortunately, it will just be a matter of time before some JW apologist will try to deconstruct and debunk this by making ad hominem attacks on Mr. Jonsson as a "mentally diseased apostate".

Mine is two-fold...the first meaning refers to one of my favorite bands from the 60's...the other meaning refers to how long I had been gone from the JW's when I joined the forum.

What am I to make of this e-mail? In my mailbox this morning...
by Terry insecretsexposed ofprivate bethel meeting, gideon school to be phased out, governing body sweating big dollar$ pedophilia case in virginia, atf watching, etc first, if theres enough donated then the watchtower society and their lawyers stay in lawrence hughes lawsuit over the blood issue but if not he drops watchtower and their lawyers yet keeps the doctors in thus cutting court costs, plus the doctors will either (1.
) third party the watchtower lawyers, that is go after them or (2.
) otherwise the watchtower lawyers and doctors will still have to be cross-examined in court and any evidence gained can be used to press criminal charges and have their licenses to practice law revoked.

Victoria, Australia: WTBTS and GB of JWs have shown themselves to be "GUILTY" respecting previous noncompliance with “Working With Children” Laws
by AndersonsInfo inthe watch tower society, the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses, the faithful and discreet slave, and the governing body of jehovah's witnesses, last week issued a "special" letter to all bodies of elders in the state of victoria instructing them to immediately apply for their working with children licenses and to comply with child protection laws.
the letter includes instructions that the contents are not to be made public or shared with members of the congregation.. .
this means an investigation authorized by the governing body of jehovah's witnesses and initiated by lawyers representing the watch tower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, inc. have concluded that the victorian working with children act 2005 and the associated child protection laws do indeed apply to all elders serving in congregations throughout the state of victoria both in the public ministry and in their internal ministry, which includes the theocratic ministry school.. .

In addition to the fine being $144,000, I found that the number of charges for each "individual" charged was interesting...the symbolic heavenly perfection number of 7!

Using an anesthesia drug (Propofol) as a sleep aid is at least negligent and likely malpractice. To use it without life support equipment available makes it a recipe for disaster. One of the most common side effects of Propofol is hypoventilation (life threatening lack of oxygen), which if not treated can result in death. Propofol is administered as an IV drip, so it is unlikely a patient can easily self administer. Doesn't look good for Dr. Murray...
I just had surgery where Propofol was used, and I can attest from personal experience that it is extraordinarily fast acting. I am in the medical business and understand what happens in the operating room. I watched the anesthesiologist inject the Propofol into the IV bag and saw the first few drops of the milky white solution drug start to drip...then it was "lights out"! It is a fantastic tool for surgery, but lethal in unskilled hands.

Both "Mentally Diseased" & Blood Transfusion DF/DA Violate UN Charter
by skeeter1 inthe united nations charter is for all un countries to follow, to its best ability.. the united nations is for the right to change one's religion, without coercion.
it applies to both countries who thwart changing religions directly, but also holds governments responsible if it allow private actors to coerce people from changing one's religion.
coercion is thought of broadly, and goes beyond mere physical force.

Hate to say it, but if they allow Muslim countries to sentence people to death for changing religions, I doubt they would do much regarding the WTS....

New To Wine - Looking for Suggestions
by HintOfLime inusually, in the evenings i like to relax, watch a movie or a comple tv shows, and sip on some vodka.. lately, however, i've gotten into reading again - and vodka just isn't the right drink.
the characters in the books are often read of drinking this wine or that - which has given me a bit of a craving for a good red wine.
something relaxing, and easy enough that it doesn't get you buzzed after a few sips (inhibiting my ability to read, etc.).

A light red would be a Pinot Noir, though usually quite dry. Cabernets, Merlots and Shiraz are all fine full bodied reds. My personal preference is a nice Zinfandel. if you are in California, I would suggest Rombauer Zinfandel...it is not too costy and has a big fruit forward flavor that makes you think of some sweetness. I know that BevMo carries it and at a decent price.
