How many?...

i couldn't find if this has been discussed in the past, but do we have any idea how many former posters/apostates from this forum have actually returned to the jw's?

i am not talking about those that were reinstated for family reasons, but rather, those that actually had a change of heart and "repented" to become active jw's again?

i can't imagine it is many, but would be curious if anyone knows individuals that have gone back because they truly believed again?

lilbluekitty...no, I am just curious if there have actually been any appreciable number that have returned because they felt it was the truth. I am not talking about people who have been reinstated for reasons of family, etc.

erbie...you are correct, the line between love and hate can be blurred. I don't know if I agree that most people leave because they dislike people...I think they are more likely to leave because of disenchantment with policies or teachings of the WTS.

dgp...I agree, and that's where I was going with the question. It would be fascinating to know if people have actually gone back because they "saw the light"!

whole blood is bad, blood fractions may be ok but not all.....wtf?

I may have missed this one earlier, but I think one of the weirdest is that Jesus was only the mediator for the 144,000...the rest of mankind has to rely on possible salvation in a second class hope by being "worthy" companions of that favored annointed class!...forget that Jesus said "no man can come to the Father except through me" (John 14:6)...I guess "me" is the GB.

Wow Blondie...thanks for the memory refresh! I do have to admit that even at the age of 12, I found Harold King's story about being imprisoned in China quite compelling. On the other hand, I wanted to swallow my gun during Freddie's talks...didn't he also do the closing prayer? (I recall it being a 20 minute long monologue!)

but hopefully those of you who suffer these digestive problems won't just rely on your doctor's advice.

I have also heard good feedback on taking a potent probiotic with a product called Candex...supposed to be helpful for good digestion and candida. Thankfully, I have been blessed with an iron digestive system, but I have family who suffer a similar condition as you do Randy.

LOL Designs...in a weird way, the Rose Bowl was actually an adventure!

Wasanelder, I was at Candlestick as well...and being a horny 15 year old, spent the bulk of the assembly lusting after young sisters hoping the chilly San Francisco breeze would get me a glance of leg from a sudden blast of cold wind. That was the only way I could distract myself from the misery of the blazing heat and freezing shadows of that lovely stadium.

I agree that JW's, as a whole, were less likely to give gifts...this was true in our house growing up. The only wrapped present I ever received was from "worldly" relatives...and then I was made to feel guilty for accepting them by my JW mother and friends. I was inviting Satan in to my life with this weakness!

When I grew up and had kids, it always bothered me that they didn't get the opportunity to enjoy simple things like Christmas and Birthdays, so being the closet pagan that I was, we used to do "Present Day" a couple times a year. We would wrap presents and hide them all over the house...then the kids would have to hunt for them, gather them together and then we watched them open their presents as a family. Though my kids are not JW's now, they still look fondly back on "Present Days" as one of the highlights of the year for them. They told me it made them feel special, and it made me feel like I was providing a semi-normal upbringing for them. Now we all get together for Thanksgiving and Christmas and enjoy each other's company, so "Present Day" lives on in spirit!
