Welcome Kate82!
As has been mentioned, this is an ex-JW board, so you will most likely get advice that would steer you away from the JW's. With that being said, many on here are very fair-minded individuals and will tell you that you need to make an INFORMED decision when it comes to commiting to this or any other religion. Do your research, as has already been suggested, and do not rely solely on what the JW's will tell you. Be aware that if you do decide to become a JW, you will put your former relationships at risk. Do you enjoy holidays, politics, community involvement?...you will have to give these up if you become a JW. If you become a JW and later decide it is not for you, you will be cut off from all JW friends and family...period. The decision to be a JW is not to be taken lightly.
There are many wonderful JW's, but you need to drill down beyond the individuals and really look at the teachings and, more importantly, the requirements of being a JW. Don't allow yourself to be "soft sold"...ask specific questions such as what would happen if you left the JW's...or what would happen if you didn't agree with a specific teaching.

Good luck in your search!
