Fisherman...you like putting words in peoples' mouths, don't you? I never alluded to guilt or innocence, but was rather stating facts. I have first hand knowledge of the prosecutorial process, and I have had many cases either rejected for filing or pled down so that it didn't ruin the track record of the DA's office. You seem to be quite passionate about this guy, where I could give a rip. If he is guilty, I just hope that he is brought to justice...and if innocent, he is exonerated.

Fisherman...in today's political climate, DA's are very reticent to file charges unless it is a slam-dunk win. Most DA's are elected and look at stats to bolster their re-electability. If it requires too much investigation or looks "flimsy", chances are they won't file. Sad reality of today's justice system.

Why did I never see THESE scriptures before?
by BoogerMan injuly 15 simplified study watchtower par 8, p. 24 - “we need to obey the faithful and discreet slave to have jehovah’s approval.”.
(john 14:6) jesus said to him: “i am the way and the truth and the life.
no one comes to the father except through me, or the wtbts inc.".

Was there any scriptures used in the article to support that claim? I suspect your new version could find its way up the food chain!

Wow...the video sounds like it is speaking to pre-schoolers! I am shocked how dumbed down these messages have become. They are a far cry from the meatier (though wrong) talks about Revelation and Ezekiel! I am shocked that there are any old school JW's still attending this simplistic gibberish!

Stage 4 Cancer, Stem Cell Transplant and Blood Transfusions

I agree with what Ron W. posted, which was very well said and succinct. JW's accept organ transplants with little or no issue. The reality is that a blood transfusion is an organ transplant...with all of the same risks as other organ transplants. Rejection and disease are possible in any transplant. If a JW had a heart or kidney transplant, it is almost certain that there will be residual blood transferred to the recipient during the procedure. A transfusion is no more a case of "eating" blood than a kidney transplant is cannibalism!
If you are comfortable with the stem cell transplant, you should feel ok with a transfusion, even if it isn't the "right" fraction as prescribed by JW's. Hangover guilt hangs on, and I understand....old habits are hard to break!

Gun Ownership - A question for American Witnesses (or Ex-Witnesses)
by no-zombie ini would like to ask a question regarding gun ownership in the active american witnesses community.
while rifle ownership has been put in the same category as spear guns and fishing rods, how has the issue of pistol ownership been handled in us congregations?

careful It would depend on the reason for the handgun possession. Is the Witness in law enforcement?
I have been out for 30 years, but I recall carrying a gun for employment was HIGHLY frowned upon by the WT. I remember being told I was not "above reproach" because of being in law enforcement. Has that viewpoint changed in subsequent years? Of course JW's have no issue with calling police (who may have to use deadly force) and have them act as surrogates in violent situations.

How did you find Jehovah's Witness meetings?
by Vanderhoven7 ini personally have only attended a handful of meetings at kingdom halls.
i did not enjoy any of them nor was i impressed by anything that was conveyed.
perhaps others did not find them boring as i did.. nadia viotto has this to say about her experience.

When I got married, my wife wanted to "experience" a JW meeting. I took her to the Memorial, and afterward I asked her what she thought. Her answer made me laugh out loud...she said I felt like I was at a tax seminar! The most joyless and wooden "church" service she had ever attended. Needless to say, neither of us has been back since!

Weight Loss and Insulin Control
by cofty inask most fitness coaches, nutritionists or health professionals and they will tell you that weight control is about calories in versus calories out (cico).
after all, you can’t ignore the laws of thermodynamics!.
the flaw in this simplistic reasoning ought to be obvious; a human body and a steam engine are two different things.. our bodies have evolved complex systems of control and feedback loops in order to maintain a steady interior environment, also known as homeostasis.

GLP-1 hormones also impact insulin production and metabolism. It is not cheap, but GLP-1 hormone supplements like Ozempic, Bydureon and Mounjaro have been cliniocally shown to have a huge impact on weight and blood sugar excursions. They are expensive and most insurance plans (USA) will not pay for them unless you are a diagnosed diabetic. Studies have shown that this class of drugs can impact weight loss by as much as 25% of body weight (Mounjaro). If you can afford them, these are life saving adjuncts to weight loss and mauintenance.

I think taking the vaccine is a personal issue, but to draw a direct correlation of increased mortality among young people due to vaccine receipt based on increased life insurance claims since the pandemic is unrelated. In the U.S., one of the leading causes of death among young people is fentanyl poisoning. The rates have been rising 30-50%+ per year since 2019...that is substantial. The death toll among younger adults has exceeded 100,000 per year for the past two years...2022 is looking to exceed 110,00 deaths.
I think the misinformation goes both ways with faulty data use.
