Actually that is not always true a lot of times it is never reported what the witnesses do in natural catastophies for example. The cyclone in Queensland few months back, they helped heaps of people other than JW, supplying food blankets and other needed necessities, they also helped in parts of Africa, although it may not be the extent that many wish, they do help out, to say that they have never helped or don't is not true, and as individuls in the community many JW help, I myself do voluntree work for animal welfare. We have members of our congregation that visit old peoples homes and spend time with the lonely.

During cyclone Katrina the JW were one of the first there to get the b/s out, the government took days, they also helped others and local JW helped others and animals.

It is not all that bad, but I know that many think they do nothing all the time, but thats not true.

from a logical point....i notice that in these threads that there are few here who dont believe in god..but i hate to tell you your dead wrong for having such an ignorant belief like that..instead ya,ll are blaming religion, people, and your personal problems for your lack of faith in god..thats dead wrong.

the non-believers are not looking at the whole picture..just the present..the things that go on in the world happen for a reason and it doesnt mean god doesnt exist.

Evil comes from Satan who at one time was faithful to God. Enough proof. He had other plans and he wanted to be God in controling things.

The missionaries go into a native villiage that no other human has ever been, they come across these people, women without tops and men showing their buttocks and eveyone just about naked, dancing around a fire, mothers openly breast feeding their children, and men stretching their penis's as it is their fashion, they have big lips with plates in them.

The missionaries say, this is evil, they are nearly naked and look at the disgusting things they do to their personal parts, they need to learn about morals, we will introduce them to sin. After being introduced to sin, they wear clothing that covers their intire bodies, they stip the the penis lengthening and lip plates tatooing dancing around the fire and all the other terrilbe satanic sinful things they were doing against the missionaries God.

These people are intoroduced to things they have never known. The first murder in this tribe accured a few months after the introduction of sin.

God doesn't make anyone worship him, I think Rom 1:19, 20 says it all

but to call someone a fool for having a different oppinion is ignorance on you're part.

many people would rather believe in evolution or chance, because of one paticular question that can't logically be answered for them. "If there is a God why does he allow suffering" it is easier and less painfull for them not to believe and that is their God given choice.

actually sicilians do differ in history the arabs settled into the country for a bit, their is quite a bit of arab blood in ol sicily, my x lover was sicilian and looks every bit arab. whatever, was an excellent analgy.

Aren't Jehovah's Witnesses just living in a ''Comfort Zone''?

my immediate family,aunts,uncles,and cousins have been members for over 25 years.

they attend every meeting,put in their 10 hours of monthly sevice,attend assemblies out of state every year,give talks at the ministry school,avoid "worldly friends'',and do everything the wts requires of them.

they really can't see that the wts has lied to them and will continue until someone steps back and opens their eyes.. what needs to happen in order for someone to get out of the ''comfort zone''?

Going door to door, telling people to study the Bible, go to meetings and figure out how you are going to change your bad ways without any education or help from us, how hard is that?

For some it is very hard. The reality for some JW or XJW's is that it is so easy a little comfort zone, well why did many leave, I have spoken to quite a few XJW's, and many said they couldn't hack the amount of time that doing the truth took from them, and going door to door was hard in itself because they no longer believed, no one just ups and leaves the truth overnight for no reason. They lose faith gradually, it starts with one little thing or one big thing and over a period the meetings become so hard to go to and witnessing is a waste of time and so on. This is usually what happens, happened to me twice.

For another answer how hard is that? some that were not born in the truth, had very very hard lives some with addictions to overcome, childhood abuse, some have mental illnesses they have to cope with, you may think the witness life or parenting is bad because of meetings and so on, some that came from the world would have loved having the security of a family, some had nothing, lived on the streets, I am not over dramatising this either, their homelife or parents were none existent, some have no idea of love, been looked after properly or having a secure roof over their heads. For all the abuse that is talked about on forums about the JW and child abuse cases we know that it is inexcusable, but the majority of JW are good parents. I and some other JW's including some of my family members are X adicts, alcoholics, homeless and looked after ourselves since we were kids, so with all that I must say if I hadn't learnt and put trust in Jehovah I would not be alive today, everday we have to fight addictions and painful memories. It is the WTS that I am troubled about at the moment, not the average JW.

Not all witnesses have it easy, actually many from the world have it very hard, as do some that are born in the truth, due to lack of education and descent work.

I do agree with some of what slim has said, there are some that can be a bit over the top of negativity on the average JW on the forum at times, I myself have, but this forum is far fairer than some of the JW forums I had read on other sites. However there is also some very interesting and truthful posts that I have learnt heaps from and answered many a question that I needed help with. Whatever we are all entitled to speak our bit.

There is definatley elitism in the org and the main culprit's are the GB themselves, forever promoting their own following.

On the disfellowshipin the Apostle Paul did write 1Cor 5:13 to remove the wicked man from amongstoursleves. 1Tim 5:21 says "I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus and the chosen anglesto keep these things without prejudgment, doing nothing according to a biased leaning." this is how it is suppose to work.

Unrepentent wrong doers are the only ones to be disfellowsiped. How does one know if a person is unrepentent. They the elders say it is holy spirit that directs them. I challenge that as a very close family member of mine was DF and was innocent, I know because I testified for them with all knowledtge, he was a fall guy, there were others involved, so where is the holy spirit, if these police like nazi's can turn up on your doorstep without informing you, vertually push youre door open barge into youre home, and in front of youre children accuse you of something or having knowledge of something without even a hello, we are here because. NO NO NO that is not holy spirit.

Now this is just one case. Goodness knows how many others, I know they treat ones unlovingly and judgmentally without any concern for the persons health or family. They should all read Ezekiel 34. And the GB should read Ezekiel 13.

Pretty sure it was mentioned in a KM a few months ago (cant find may km) and was iterated by my BSConductor that because of the witness language those in the world don't understand the study articles like when it say CO, DO, pioneer, PO, bethelite, and the heavier or meatier articles, that may be true of one reason but I smell a big rat.

yeah I hope it is true also, because this slavery has gone way to far, I really feel sorry for many of the b/s they really are trapped weather be family or other reasons, so many really do love Jehovah but are hood winked by the society.

I think you can apply that to a lot of religions, there are people that would veiw others that way, it is self righteousness and very unChrist like. I guess where ever there is organized religion you get this pious bunch.

I do agree that some elders wives, pioneers, elders and going up the self righteous tree of unChrist like b/s that does happen and I have seen it in my own congregation, I tend to give back what I get but in a way that is diplomatic and scriptual, that always works, and moves some to shame.

The hypocrocy of this stenches, as it causes divisions, you have the bethelites and elders all talking in one corner, the pioneers in another, and the wealthier ones in another, it really does stand out to the average joe, and yet if I was to disagree with something the WTS said and spoke about it to someone else I would be causing divisions or worst still apostacy.
