Do you have MS Word? Turn on the grammar help and compose a long, long rambling essay. Then read everything the grammar help has to say about it. This is more real than reading some canned software.

i am applying for grad school and i need to take the gmat test.
the only part of this test that has me worried is there is one small grammar section.
i was wondering if anyone knew any software packages that can help me (1) prepare for the gmat or (2) practice my grammar and writing skills.. .

since i left the dubs i have dabbled a bit with the lottery...a scratch off ticket here or there...but nothing major.
recently i have gotten to know a few people that seem to gamble quite a bit.
we went to the horse races a few weeks ago and i bet on one of the horses that a friend owns...lol fortunately not much as i lost.
The odds of you winning the lottery are something akin to pitching a quarter off the top of a 20 story building and having it land (and stay) in a teacup. Your chances of winning are about the double the chance of dying in an airplane crash.
Playing in a casino: The house has the odds. That's why card counters and such (who only EVEN the odds can be kicked out of a casino). And house odds are better than pure chance by only something like 3%.
If you gamble and win, having a great night once, never go back.

i had some thoughts last night in regards to compelled morality.
i'm sure it's nothing new, but i just thought i'd share, for my own sake if nothing else.
most of us here who do not believe that the bible is an inspired book reject it because it violates our natural moral sense.
Go back and read 1984 again, Euph.

i took this off of xjw_b12's thread.
(hope you don't mind).
"when considering whether to include a pinata at a social gathering, christians should be sensitive to the consciences of others.
NEVER. Not ever so long as it retains either its elitism nor its shunning policy will it ever amount to a pimple on a private's ass. And that's going some.

Only ONE? Are you nuts? I can't do just one; no more than I can eat just one peanut.
Fleetwood Mac - Rumors
Joan Baez - From Every Stage
Abba - Arrival
Sinatra - same question: I gotta pick ONE?
This is too hard. I give up.

ok........has anybody been hearing rumors about new light on the faithful and discreet slave teaching?
i recently talked to one of my ex-bethel buddies and he said that an adjustment has been in the works for awhile now and that the new light for the fds will be that they will receive their appointment before the great tribulation and that they didn't receive it at 1918-19 as previously taught.
their works (global preaching work, worldwide growth, etc) up until the point of the great tribulation will show that they have been faithful and discreet in caring for the lord's interests and worthy of "official" appointment before the end comes.
I hope they don't hurt themselves patting their own backs like that.

.and yet i still find myself engulfed in them.
starting a thread about abortion, homosexuality, religion, capital punishment, euthanasia, evolution, race relations, war, politics, ect.
are ultimately pointless.
Like you said, some things by their very nature cannot be agreed upon nor compromised. Take abortion for instance. There is just no compromise available here, no halfway between. Either you will allow it or you won't. However, I will never understand the mentality that kills to stop the killing; and then if you kill to stop the killing and the state catches you, it will kill you to stop your killing. Nice.
On another topic, please tolerate me while I object to a word manufactured & designed to divide and inflame: homophobe and all its forms. I detest the word for the reasons noted. Most anti-gays I know aren't afraid at all no matter what all the gays on the planet might get together and opine. It's just not a fair nor correct word. These people may not like gays because "their bible tells them to" or because they realize they'll never have grandchildren or for some other similiar reason, but not because they're "threatened in their manhood," or any other such foolishness. The word is merely a taunt and was designed to be just so. I think the gay community should drop it.
There's enough to argue about to keep the world at war for another thousand generations; I give you the middle east - exhibit A. I believe we should be about finding things to agree with each other about before we kill each other off over trivial disagreements.

well here is the start .
if your name is not on it then either it wasn't on the old texas map or it wasn't added to the previous list so... .
if you want your name added please say so and let me know what state you are in.
francois is in Georgia.
are you: a minority group called "jew" a majority group called "greek" a minority group called "christian"
to believe in christ, the jews asked for a powerful sign, before they would believe.. to believe in christ, the greeks appealed to logic and wisdom, before they would believe.. to believe in christ, the christians simply believed, and treated it as a personal calling.. which category do you believe you fall into 1, 2 or 3?.
.. 1cor.1:22-25 - the message.
Well, here's mine. Recognize it anyone? (How did this turn into a Tartan thread)
