  "By its IP address alone, are we being deceptive?" Um, not to put too fine a point on it, but how could a string of numbers be deceptive of itself?

  In my experience, most JWs do not have that firm a grip on the King's english, or anyone else's for that matter. When they see the battlement with Jehovahs-Witness over it, some dim light goes on way back in the even dimmer recesses of their mind and they have an Ah-Ha! experience, thinking this is one of "mother's" sites. Then, after looking around a bit, they realize it ain't so and they feel they've been had. In reality, it's merely a case of their limited educations coming to haunt them.

  If this site indeed does "suck in JWs unawares" that is attributable to the results of their own choosing, not to anything we or Simon have done. Let them wallow in their own ignorance.

  it's the district assembly for those in my congregation today.

  this morning i saw about 20 dub cars parked in a public parking lot.

  they left their cars there and took the bus to go to an assembly.. .

  I wouldn't reject that notion out of hand because that would be too "witnessey" a thing to do. I will say I'm very skeptical of the premise however and I suspect that upon rigorous examination, the premise that normal people join cults would eventually crumble.

  If there is ever an apostofest close enough to me you bet your bippy I'm going. Last time Venice went to one, even though it was 1,200 miles away, I kept hearing someone screaming "NO Don't. Stop. Take it out deeper. Don't Stop. DON'TSTOP. DON'TSTOP.

  Not all JWs are paedophiles!

  i read some reports (infact the majority) and they seem to imply all jws are paedophiles!

  seldom do they draw the distinction between the majority (who are not peds) and the few who are.

  perhaps we need to be more balanced when we comment on these things...dont cha think?.

  I would agree with the subject statement. However, I would add that many more JWs who are not directly pedophiles are guilty of pedophilia as accessories after the fact. In 95% of all cases of pedophilia, the spouse of the abuser is fully aware of the nature and frequency of the abuse taking place in the home.

  Right this moment I know of an elder who has raped at least three little girls and his wife knows, his sister knows, at least one of the little girl's mothers knows, I know, God knows, and the three little girls know.

  In fact the number of JWs who are accessories after the fact is far greater than the actual number of pedophiles.

  HOW MANY bad apples is it that spoils the entire barrel?

  1914, how does the Watchtower calculate this ???

  okay i haven't been to a meeting in 15 years and my memory has slipped on this one, so to the best of your knowledge how does the watchtower come up with 1914.. i understand the 607 bce jerusalem thing, (which we know is wrong more like 587/586).

  i understand the gentile times / seven times thing that gives you 2520 years ( 7 x 360).

  i understand the day for a year calculation.. but the part i don't get is why only 360 days for a year and not 365 or 365.25, you can't calculate only 360 days a year through history because it would throw everything off.. hey maybe the watchtower will get "new light" on this and change it to 365 , it would give them an extra 35 years to work with ????.

  Actually, what they do, see, is that they take the number of inches along the north side of the Great Pyramid of Giza and divide it by the amount of change in Russell's left pocket at the time of his death. Using this "base" number they then multiply this number by 144, the base number of the saints who will go to heaven. The result of this operation is integrated with Claudia Schiffer's IQ raised to the 12th power and divided by the number of little girls under the age of 6 that have been fondled by "Needle Nose" Jacaraz. The result is added to a melted banana popsicle and microwaved on high for 25 seconds after which a pinch of orange peko and peko tea leaves are added. After a time, half a time, and times, the tea leaves still floating on top are counted and that number is cubed, resulting - each and every time - in 1914. And there you have it.

  Don't mention it. Was a personal pleasure for me to reveal this deep secret.
