  Actually, there IS one place on earth where there continues to be a brisk trade in black humans on sale as slaves, and female "circumcision" and such as that. The place? Africa. Yes, in Africa, one tribe still raids and carries off members of other tribes for sale, mostly to Arab states, as slaves just as they did four hundred years ago.

  The white people, mainly Dutch, who bought black people and made them serve as slaves in the sugar cane fields of the New World, could not have done so without the active cooperation of the African tribes who were selling their brothers into that slavery themselves. So you can blame whites for slavery until you are blue in the face; it was African blacks who were responsible for starting this curious institution, not whites.

  Yes, Clinton's "Assault Weapons Ban" was one of the biggest jokes I ever saw. And lots of lefties STILL don't get it. I'll try one more time to explain it. Clinton's "Ban" disallowed something like 18 assault rifles from being imported into the states alright, banned them BY NAME. So the manufacturers of those firearms CHANGED THE NAMES and kept right on importing them. I don't think that Clinton's "ban" kept even ONE assault rifle out of this country. Now, you folk on the left understand how Clinton hoodwinked you all? He slipped it to you just like he slipped it to Monica, but I'll bet she had a better time.

  And BTW, when Jack Kennedy lowered taxes government revenues went UP as well, same same with Regan. But there's just something about the internal wiring of a liberal that rejects tax cuts on a deep visceral level, even when it's demonstrated that they work. OH well, you libs never did like having to deal with the truth, did you?

  I vote that we get an avatar of your actual stinky pantz once and for all. WHO IS WITH ME? Actually, I'd lots rather have a picture of you looking directly into the lens of the camera, but Noooooooo, you won't cooperate with that simple request. So now, we voted in assembly secret and have decided we'll have to settle for a picture of you in your stinky pantz; a shot from the navel to just below the pantz. This should be a digital photo, in color and enlargeable to, say, five X ten FEET. Get busy on that will you?

  Rocketman makes a cogent point. The society will go to any length to ensure the blessings of liberty and the bounty of the Bill of Rights for itself as a group, but denies these rights to its membership as individuals, where it really counts.

  It's ironic that the Bill of Rights, designed to protect the individual citizen from his government; is impotent to protect that same individual citizen from his religion.

  This insane situation cannot forever last.

  Yep, met plenty of them. Made out with them in my appropriately decorated and musically adorned room until our faces were blue. Plied them with the grape until our lips were blueish red. Rode them like in the old west until not a muscle would respond ever again (during that particular assembly). It was wunnerful. Thank God for assemblies and the variety they brought. Otherwise it would have been the same two lumps every morning.

  i left the cult over 25 years ago and never looked back.

  sadly, my daughter has recently returned to "the freakin flock" and now my granddaughter is being indoctrinated.

  i am no longer allowed to even see her unless my fanatical jw daughter supervises every word -- and then its only once every 6 months for a few hours.

  Grandparents visitation rights is a gnarly business. One of the main reasons for this, of course, is inteference with your rights by the National Organization of Woman. Believe me, as an ex-officio member of the Children's Rights Council of Georgia, I've seen them in action. And, after three years of watching them in action, could take it no more and resigned.

  for me it has to be my family, there not stupid, i was a little kid (the youngest) during the 1970's, all my brothers and sisters were in their teens/20's, what didn't they see ??

  and why don't they see it today ??.

  however, when jesus said his desciples would have love amongst themselves, surely he didnt mean it would just be amongst themselves?

  aparently the man should be 1.09x taller than the woman.

  this would give my ideal partner height at 5ft, which more than half of my girlfriends have been!!!.

  Do you think you could do with something in a slightly older, slightly shorter guy? Perhaps the difference in skin color would make up for not making the grade on the height thing. What do you think my heart? After all, I'm a poet. I could make the night resonate with protestations of my unending, unbending love. Deep in the night the neighbors would be throwing their shoes in our direction as I played classical acoustic guitar by moonlight and spun verse and rhyme into your eyes. (Am I getting anywhere with this at all?)
