Great Strides Have been Made!

since i last posted here, some wonderful blessings have come my way!

my oldest son who i shunned in 1981 and who has since cut me out of his life....has finally "come around" and we are making some real headway towards being in each other's lives again.

he has restored an old 1933 ford jalopy and asked me if i wanted to go for a ride in it with him!

Letter From My Elder Brother 2 Years Ago ; My Reply to Him

as some of you know, me and my wife 2 years ago were accused of " circumstancial fornication" 1 month before we were married because my ex wife ( divorced 1998) and my youngest daughter , both witnesses, drove an hour and a half away from where they lived to find me at my fiances house at 9:30 a.m. in the morning to take my fiance to get her tires fixed.

both my fiance and me were fully clothed !

then my ex-wife ran and gossipped to my witness parents and older siblings about it , bringing about them writing condemning letters to me ; without even checking out the accuracy of the false charges.

Gossip is started by one still "in the Truth " therefore they are always right

you decide to rip me from stem to stern putting yourself in God's place judging me as a human being based on hearsay, and misrepresentation.

I think clear thinking depends on having a neutral stand not to be swayed emotion or false sense of loyalty !

The constant call for loyalty the the WT. deadens one's true heartfelt love !

Remember everything we do is NOT about appearance , it's about what is INSIDE the person that motivates them to help others.

I think this is key to be satisfied in your heart and mind about the true nature of your attitude and being.

But still hope in your family... that one day their judgment not be twisted and obscured. Love never fails !

A very nice reply letter too clearly and calmly outlining what is truth... yet will not to comprehend or understood at least at

present time. Motive , intent ,and indoctrination can play tricks on mind and solid reasoning power

Live with inner-contentment and peace but not without hope even for your family

Help! My parents are addicted to this site!

hey all,.

just thought i'd check out all the hoopla with this site.since i can't phone home without my parents being on here and talking to me at the same time.. anyone elses parents huge apostates?

i keep telling my mom my dad she write a book on jw's,all he needs are some good typing skills and he'd be off.. i am wondering if anyone knows about any support groups for addicted computer users?

i'm new to this site.

i'm not a jw but have studied with them largely because i wanted to know for myself what jws believed and wanted to hear it from them, not from others (i.e.

catholics, baptists, methodists, etc.).

Tolerance and the Predisposition to Alcoholism
Animal studies indicate that some aspects of tolerance are genetically determined. Tolerance development was analyzed in rats that were bred to prefer or not prefer alcohol over water (26,27). The alcohol-preferring rats developed acute tolerance to some alcohol effects more rapidly and/or to a greater extent than the non preferring rats (26). In addition, only the alcohol-preferring rats developed tolerance to alcohol's effects when tested over several drinking sessions (27). These differences suggest that the potential to develop tolerance is genetically determined and may contribute to increased alcohol consumption.
In humans, genetically determined differences in tolerance that may affect drinking behavior were investigated by comparing sons of alcoholic fathers (SOA's) with sons of nonalcoholic fathers (SONA's). Several studies found that SOA's were less impaired by alcohol than SONA's (28,29). Other studies found that, compared with SONA's, SOA's were affected more strongly by alcohol early in the drinking session but developed more tolerance later in the drinking session (30). These studies suggest that at the start of drinking, when alcohol's pleasurable effects prevail, SOA's experience these strongly; later in the drinking session, when impairing effects prevail, SOA's do not experience these as strongly because they have developed tolerance (30). This predisposition could contribute to increased drinking and the risk for alcoholism in SOA's.

Tolerance can be a useful clue for clinicians in identifying patients who may be at risk for developing alcohol-related problems. For example, younger patients who are early in their drinking histories and who report that they can "hold their liquor well" may be drinking at rates that will place them at risk for medical complications from alcohol use, including alcoholism. The fact that tolerance to all of alcohol's effects does not develop simultaneously is also important; people who are mildly tolerant may exhibit more symptoms of impairment when faced with unfamiliar activities, such as driving in an unknown area, than when they are engaged in routine actions, such as driving home from work. Lastly, although we know that initial sensitivity to alcohol may play a role in the development of alcoholism, the role of tolerance in maintaining addiction to alcohol needs further exploration.

So genetic family exposure certainly must play a huge role.Personally sensitivities such itching, and crawling sensations in

my blood stream dampens my drinking enjoyment.
