Need suggestions for a band name............
by crazyblondeb inmy daughter's boyfriend is in a prrety good band.
they have been playing in my basement for quite a while.. they need a name, and i'm empty, the ones they are coming up with are lame......they play rock..... any suggestions???

I seen this video some months ago, yet still her singing is so hauntingly beautiful.. it sends shivers
up and down my spine and tears to my eyes ! (the little six year old singing ) !

New article on methods of False Reasoning in the Watchtower

this discusses rhetorical fallacy, methods such as red herrings, straw man arguments, generalisations etc.. i would welcome any comments or proof reading.

Elder asks me why we quit... (Long)
by Odrade inin this thread i mentioned having a long chat with an elder last summer.
i didn't realize i had never posted the story, so here it is.. last summer (when i went to buy my new camera lens) i ran into one of my favorite jws at the photography shop.
he was buying a camera bag for his new dslr, and i saw him, went up and greeted him, hugged him.

So sad to say but just like the famous movie line "you can't handle the truth ".. this is indeed
fact after many years of sacrifice and full dedication for some it too devastating to face sad reality !
However of course there may be many others factors such as family troubles, health, money etc .
I have seen what I call a "defeated attitude" in many Elders who when finally faced with a nursing home
situation only last a few months in . The outcome to their life is soooo different from what it was supposed
to be . ( youthful vigor and health ) ! Sorry for you... sorry for all through only partial fault of their own
come face to face with this situation !

Do JW's intentionally act so as to bring persecution on themselves?
by gaiagirl insome witnesses state that "gods people will be persecuted" or "if you are not being persecuted, then you better examine your life".
a jw who works where i do poured the last cup of coffee out of the pot, and was asked to make another pot for the other workers.
he responded "sorry, i have to go to work now".

Do JW's EVER admit to being wrong about any topic?
by gaiagirl inwitnesses are trained to believe they are right when speaking about the bible and their beliefs, even when reminded that their beliefs have been "adjusted" for "new light".. .
do jw's you know admit to being wrong on any point, whether or not bible related, or are the "always right" even when shown to be wrong?
