JW's who only stay for social reasons are serving out of wrong motives
by yadda yadda 2 inwe know that many jw's are very disillusioned and would probably love to step sideways from their religion.
but they stay because all their friends and family are jw's.
this is especially the case with younger ones and single ones in the organisation, who often have very sophisticated social lives and networks of friends in the organisation.

Your motives are impure and you are not worshiping God out of a 'pure heart' so why bother staying, why endure the pain? You may as well just leave and make new friends
You make a good point, but how many (including me) had the time desire or inclination to do much logical thinking ?
Also there is a Bible verse that says something to the effect that even if you serve begrudgingly there is reward just
the same ... strictly because of obedience not heartfelt desire ! And you know how "independent thinking " is viewed !
There are so many catch 22's and obvious double standards but first one must try to find a way to remove the
"rose colored glasses "

Successful JW/Non-JW Relationships... How do you make it work?
by cognac ini was thinking we could talk about what works for couples who have good jw/non-jw relationships.

"The Truth" is a nice little package plan no grueling hours of searching.. searching
Store bought stuff is a snap as opposed all the garden work involved in growing your own !

That thing about churches is one thing I had an issue with.. I once as an active JW was sent to a panic
situation where India ink had been spilled on a carpet (I was a professional carpet cleaner) ( this is a time sensitive
situation with India ink) . Anyway I was seen working in a church by someone .... the whole issue of church
contract work came up.. I told them looking this was a one time emergency situation.. I didn't even know it
was a church til I got there... too late to back out ! This whole thing about conscience of others came up.
I reached a boiling point, pointing out that just a while ago an elder attend a church service (funeral )
because a relative with money wrote in his will that to obtain willed money he must be present at the service !
I told them I call that a bribe.. if you only attend to obtain the money ! I was only in church doing my job
they told me the elder was not there to worship.. either was I... I said.. the whole situation makes me think
of a word that starts with H.... and it's not the word honor !

I've finally come to the conclusion after many years that if you have to consult a WT. to decide
what YOUR conscience thinks..... it's not your conscience at all !
